"Alright I can do that. I started playing with electronic stuff when I was 13 back...there. I've been fiddling ever since, and it sound like I should be able to make some basic semi-conductors and stuff fairly quickly, but first I'm going to work on generating power. And no, I won't be building anyone a Commodore 64 anytime soon, so no one ask. Also, Net, can we talk later?"

"Generating electricity is easy, be damn useful if we did have it. You'll need to get me permanent magnets and an engine of some sort to run it."

"We have steam power apparently...So yeah.  And I have a lodestone."

"I can do that. I'll need a bit of time to draw up some plans, and test it to make sure it doesn't blow everything up, but I could probably get it done in a month, or two at the most."

"Well, I'll be around, trying to keep us in useful weapons. Ask if you need any materials or help."

{To be clear, this guy and the military commander are NPCs. They're competent, they'll help do what needs doing, but it's up to you to figure it out.}
