Notably, the Stranger's leg does not have the strange fractal taint, but rather a fairly mundane bullet-scar, looking several months healed, and stained darker than the surrounding skin.

The manner in which the Beast's teeth move is hidden in molten drool and the shimmer of heat, but there are no overtly mechanical sounds, and they slow to a halt as it calms. Being a horror from before time itself, the Skalewyrm's physiology is quite alien in nature.

The budding engineer, Gwolf, manages to crawl back to his hut, and chooses to celebrate this achievement by self-medicating some fairly nebulous symptoms. Fortunately, the bottle of pills he ingests is not particularly significant, and sends him into a world of soothing hallucinations and pleasant side effects.

The Porcine Ninja and our resident Technomagus engage in cheerful, frolicsome conversation with the Stranger, who is quite capable of certain types of reanimation.

The elevator needs a new cage, a few meters of fresh chain, a couple gears, and various sorts of cleanup work. A week, max. Thankfully, there's a staircase right next to it that escaped damage. Now to walk up four hundred and seventy-three steps.

Foreman Murdoc begins up the steps, something small and weirdly heavy pulling at his coat pocket.

While there are possibilities for action in the caverns, they are quite few, and the others will likely want to return to the surface and the dregs of the siege soon.
