Aalso, as clarification. Bloodrose takes about six to eight months to infest a Blackroot vine to a point it can transmit. Before then, it's nontransmittable. Blackroot grows muuuuch faster then Bloodrose matures. So it'll only really be noticible in the centers of large clusters. The thorns on their own are a deterrent to prevent overeating. The transmmition is a secondary reproduction route. Technically Blackroot roots merge underground when encountering new brambles of Blackroot, so Bloodrose's base transmission is through super large clusters linking up.
My laundry list for finishing the base layer of foodchain is as follows:
A decomposer/fertilizer. I have a rather fun idea for this called Corpsemelon and a secondary that I'll add later called Toothcap.
Next we need some fruit producers. I'll do a tree that uses Blackroot as a way to root and gather nutrients for a base. Fruits will allow smaller organisms to thrive, as well as allow animals to store food. I'll do a nut style tree as well. I have a few extra strains in mind for both. Might give them a Variety trait so there's differences.
After that we'll need a bramble class fruit producer. A symbiot that grows out of Blackroot like Bloodrose does will work.
A secondary decomposer for plants will be needed by this point. I have an idea for that.
The Jacks will serve as a primary herbivore to prevent Blackroot from taking all the nutrients, so I won't need to make a primary herbivore.
I'll make a few insectile herbivores based in the fruit symbiots.
Couple rodents as well.
A decomposer scavenger with a short life to break up corpses to nutrients faster.
Couple more insects. Prolly one similar to a fly for decomposing reasons.
Then I'll set up base carnivores for insects to prevent insect surges. As well as base carnivores to prevent overflows from the primary and secondary herbivores.
Somebody should prolly start working on the various ocean biomes. There are a lot, and I only have plans for the Sea Floor and Deep Ocean biomes.
Someone should work on fliers. I have no plans but an insectpredator would be good when we get there. As would birds of prey.
Also someone needs to do desert/arctic/tundra stuff. Blackroot won't spread there.
