H- Hi. I'm an on and off player of the Dwarf Fortress, and while I have had one semi-successful-simple-3-year-occasionally-exploding-good-enough fort, I still have lots to learn, and as such, would be interested in joining in on this little jaunt.

Sorry if I didn't catch this, but are we going to save-scum if the fortress simply dies due to stupidity and without any epic achievements/failures/elephants?

I vote we savescum if there's a majority opinion that the death wasn't entertaining enough, but otherwise just reclaim/start a new fort.

I think a stupid death would do well to stay canon, sort of as a grim reminder of the fatal balance between Learning and !!!FUN!!!

I can see it now...

"Here lies the broken remnants of a might Dwarven fortress... destroyed when someone forgot to keep the drink flowing!"
