[Baaah, I don't want to retype this part right now. I'll do it eventually. To paraphrase what happened, Pythios gets up after thirty minutes of awkward silence, now you guys are sitting at a table and planning your next move.]

Ianthe hands Pythios a pen and paper, and he immediately starts scribbling. First, he draws a crude representation of the tavern, followed by six stick figures you assume to be him and your party. He then draws a mound with a triangle on top of it, and surrounds it with trees. "Now, that's Fullmoon Forest. I don't know what Varcolac is doing, but whatever it is, we need to stop it before the festival. That hill is the old chapel, where Varcolac is sure to be hiding. We've got two options. We can gear up and travel to the forest tomorrow, during the day, or we can sneak through it two nights from now and still be back in time for the festival. It's up to you."

Cromwell notices a bit of graffiti on the part of the table visible from where he's sitting.
It reads: "CHOOSE CAREFULLY - THE DM" Peculiar, but of no import to what he does, Cromwell thinks.

Cromwell rubbed his chin and thought carefully.

"Well, we no longer have a wizard thanks to that accident, so I think we should play it safe and use the cover of night to our advantage."

"Alright, two nights from now under the cover of darkness it is. I suggest we all get a good night's sleep, and reconvene in the morning."

*Fast-forward noise*

It's the night of the festival, and the town is bustling with excitement. Your party can see the lights and crowds of people as you hike up the hills to Fullmoon Forest. You arrive just as the sun sets.

NEW PARTY MEMBER OBTAINED!

Pythios Castiglione
HP: 7
Weapon: Sword
Armor: Leather

"Alright, lads. The old chapel is not too much further. Remember to keep your wits about you. No telling what sort of tricks old Vilkas has up his sleeve. Legend has it that a great adventurer is buried beneath the chapel, slain in a battle with an evil beast. Perhaps some of his equipment is buried with him. But, that's the least of our concerns now."

Your band of heroes plods on through the forest, unable to shake the feeling that you are being watched. Soon enough, you see a large hill rising up in front of you, and on top of it stands an ancient cobblestone building. As you approach, the doors swing inwards with a loud creak. You look forward to see rows of rotting wooden pews on either side of you, five to each side. At the front of the church stands a stone altar. The altar is flanked by two tapestries. However, there is no sign of Varcolac. Perhaps it would be prudent to search for any secret passageways.

My thief senses are tingling!

Start smashing up the pews.

"You guys can check the altar, but let's face it, that's too obvious of a secret passage entrance."

"Yeah, I doubt its by the alter. But I'll look anyway..."

Head to the alter and shove it over. Perception check after that please.

Despite your best efforts, the altar does not budge. This probably shouldn't come as a complete surprise, considering that the altar is a giant slab of stone. [Would you mind refreshing my memory on what a perception check is, good sir? I suck.]

Smashing the rotten pews seems to accomplish little, other than temporarily satisfying your urge for destruction, you naughty person.

Ok, look behind the two tapestries.

"Let's try tearing these down. Either we'll find something, or we'll have successfully vandalized the entire building. I call it a win either way."

((A perception check should be a roll to see if I notice anything out of the ordinary.

At least thats what it is in those youtube DnD videos....))

Search the altar for anything that looks like a button...

As you fumble around for a switch, you hear voices from outside.
(1) You think you feel a groove somewhere along the altar, but you can't get a grip on it.

Ripping the ornate tapestries off the wall simply reveals the stone behind it. No entrance here.

A command is given that sounds more like a bark than any human speech, but you manage to make out part of it.

"Tchono, Bvaso, you two sweep the woods. They'll be close by. The rest of you, come with me. We'll set a trap for them in the catacombs." You can hear at least half a dozen pairs of heavy footsteps approaching the door to the chapel.
