Basic differences as compared to later editions:

Armor class ranges from -10 to 10, with lower numbers being good. Your to-hit is measured in THAC0 (to hit armor class zero).

Stats are rolled as straight 3d6, and they are rolled per-ability score. No reassigning them, you get what you get.

Classes are arranged in groups, such as Mage or Fighter, with the more esoteric classes being offshots of the more basic ones.

Classes and races have ability score and race requirements. If you don't meet them, you're out of luck.

Different classes and races have different leveling speeds and maximum levels. Rogues level quickly, mages don't.

You can buy packages to change your class' stuff.

You can multiclass or dual class, but only if you're a human.

Wizards are absolutely terrible at low levels, but amazing at high ones.

Armor is extremely important. Kobolds with metal armor can murder you.

That's about all I remember.

Well, for my rolls, I got 7 STR, 10 INT, 8 WIS, 9 DEX, 11 CON, and 15 CHA.

It would appear I'm some kind of charming slacker. The perfect adventurer.
