Is it possible to get PTSD from Dungeons and Dragons?
If so, I think Tawa has it.
My first game was 4th Edition and I was still new to the whole "non-contrived plot" thing.

Of course I have PTSD from it.

Mastahcheese, you were there, weren't you?

Anyway, protip: If you want to make an OOC joke or a reference, disguise it and/or bury it in a mountain of text. Saying "a wild ___ draws near!" to introduce an incounter, for example, breaks immersion just a touch.

I was.

It was terrifying.

Also, I'll be without home internet for maybe a week, so just autopilot me until I get back.

You approach the man.
"Are you alright, sir?" Blacke asks the man.
"Doesn't look like it." Cromwell flips him over and reveals a knife lodged in the dead man's gut.
"He could be a bandit," Plor ventures.
"Or bait." Cromwell again.

What will you do?

Take the knife. He doesn't need it anymore.

With a sickening squelch, you remove the knife from the man's stomach. It's lodged in there pretty firmly, and you end up disemboweling the poor fellow in the process. Look what a mess you've made now, you naughty person. But, anyways, you have your knife. Are you happy now?

"That was... Unnecessary, to say the least..."

Search the now dead person. See if there is anything on him to suggest who he might have been.

((EDIT: Wrong name...))

"Well, he had a lot of guts, at least."
Look around for potential assassins.

As if the man hadn't gone through enough already, you frisk him for any papers he might have had on him.

No dice. Whoever killed him took everything that was on his person. Mysterious, but there's little to be done about it.

"Well, he had a lot of guts, at least."
Look around for potential assassins.

You begin to scan the surrounding area.
Nothing...
"Wait, what's that in that bush over there?"
Blacke could have sworn he saw something move.
*Thwaaap!*
Some sort of blowdart embeds itself in Blacke's neck, and he stumbles to the ground before passing out.
(Don't worry, Tawa, it's not poison, you'll live. Probably.)

Run over to where the blowdart came from and tackle it, while drawing whatever my most accessible weapon is.

Cromwell runs into the bush, screaming and waving around his bloody knife. Something that you assume to be part of the small intestine is still hanging off of the blade.

Plor tails right behind him and leaps into the bush.

Dampe moves to examine Blacke's condition.

(Cromwell & Plor have rolled a 2!)

Aside from a considerable amount of thorns, the rosebush you leapt into headfirst is empty. Whoever fired the blowdart must have faded back into the forest already...

What will you do?

Continue on through the woods, searching for the mysterious assassin!

I don't think he/she/it is technically an assassin if Blacke isn't dead, but very well.

Cromwell picks himself up and begins to pull the thorns out of his skin.

Plor blunders further into the forest to search for the Blowgun Bandit (as he/she/it has now been dubbed), stomping on plants and snapping branches and making a whole lot of noise.

Dampe continues to examine Blacke. It's clear that he isn't dead, but whatever knocked him out is very potent.

What shall you do?
