The first bits are common sense. Might want to add "Favorite this thread," since it's liable to be months at best before anything like this happens again, and people will forget. (People will forget even if they do favorite it, natch, but it sounds better that way, right?)

Some of us on the lower boards, in response to the recent shock-image troll, have been refining an idea for an alert system to notify others when anyone of that type shows up.  However, we would like your green-light to go ahead with this project.  It is first mentioned here and is further refined throughout the next two pages.  If you have the time to give us your red-or-green-light, it would be much appreciated so that we know whether to go forward with this project.

It looks like somebody went ahead and did.  I'm ambivalent about it, since it is kind of a troll magnet, like the Not Again thread ended up being, and people failed to show restraint when they actually tried to talk to the troll.  If the thread is used to talk to a troll, it will be removed, but I'll leave it alone for now.

Yhea, I'll add those rules, mostly because I was the one who actually got antagonistic at the troll, so that's something, and I'll certainly be adding in the idea to favourite it.
And lets be honest here, a lot of people were egging the troll on, no blame is not placed on the people that posted in that other thread.

Should we post public service announcements about this thread in some of the other commonly used boards or would that be too intrusive?  On the one hand, it's something that can affect everyone, on the other hand, that's cross-board posting which is generally frowned upon.
