((Quite an interesting situation... Something tells me this is not straight bad-good situation...))

If it seems that doctor's body would stop the first knife thrown - Ulric halts his shot a little, as it could be doctor who is targeted here, for reasons currently unknown. Otherwise, he shoots the suspicious man immediately.

It's time for the ATHATH Death Counter to increase once more in celebration for the end of the world.

Delekates

Delekates moves away from the door, and instantly encounters his commander. Upon hearing the news, he nods, and calls forth a few soldiers. Two soldiers come forth, gingerly bearing a large copper sphere. They lay it down, attach a cord to it, and back away. Delekates instinctively moves away, and a soldier lights the fuse.

Robb

"Well.... There's the element of darkness... That's probably the closest thing..."
Robb returns to camp, grabs some wooden-tipped arrows, and joins another squadron of archers who is busy firing at some targets, who just happen to be corpses of the enemy pinned to a wall.

Xaver

Xaver asks Thafrin what to do next. Thafrin says "Us? Oh, our job is done here. Now we let the heavy infantry sweep the building. Just head back to camp and relax.... I'm just going to keep talking to this fellow here."

Kull

Kull works his way back to camp, and is instantly approached by several medics. They begin blabbering to him about how he must have lost much blood. They escort him to a tent and wash him off. However, they seems surprised, as very little blood continues to come out, meaning that most of this blood was not his. They fearfully, and almost reverentially, stare at Kull as they treat the few wounds he had, and extract an arrow or two.

Ulric

Ulric, hesitating, holds his arrow just long enough for the man to throw the knife. It strikes the king in the chest. Ulric releases his arrow instantly, which impales itself through the arm of the knife-thrower, piercing through to the side, pinning his throwing arm to his hand. Worried, he runs over to the king. However, he utters a few words of relief when he realizes that the knife hit the king with the handle, and then bounced off. However, the doctor was not as lucky. The knife, when it fell, impaled the doctor's foot. He is currently treating it, and when he arrives, tells him to get another medic.

Confused by strange incident, Ulric sends some other soldier for a doctor while securing an unfortunate killer.

"What about non-spiritual things like souls or spirits and such? Do they even exist?"

"If souls exist, then we have no clear way of knowing it. However, there was once a man who claimed to have learned the powers of death. He claimed that he could resurrect the spirits of the dead to fight for him. However, he never demonstrated this power, leaving us to question his authenticity. Most educated citizens call him a phony, but some peasants still "want to believe". However, we assume that there are no such things as ghosts or spirits. The closest things would be the wraiths found in the abandoned lower mineshafts, but they're still corporeal rather than ethereal, and they are believed to reproduce to create new wraiths, instead of being the spirits of fallen men. In fact, I believe their reproduction ceremony was described in great detail in the book about the creatures of the deep. Apparently, it involves a ritual with several wraiths in a circle, all blowing into one spot. I believe the concentrated force of their breath created the new wraith, fully grown. That may be while they're so hard to stomp out, as they can infinitely repeat at any time. Oh my, I do believe I have gone off on a tangent. I tend to do that."

"As I earlier said, there is another mage who learned two elements, revolutionizing our knowledge. However, once you learn something, it stays with you. There is no going back on magic."

"That would depend on several factors. First, is there other larger bodies of water nearby? If so, the magic might become "Confused" and act upon those instead. Second, are you an experienced mage? An experienced mage might BARELY be able to do something like make the water ripple. The problem with it all would be the fact that the water is impeded by a very strong magic, the magic that is our life and existence. Everyone is composed of magical essence to some degree."

((In short, no. Unless you were a very experienced mage and you both were trapped in a desert, in which you might make him have to burp.))

"Wait a minute, life and existence is a type of magic? Does that mean that life and creation magic exist? What about death and void/destruction magic?"

"No, you misunderstand. I have already told you there is no life magic, or death magic. I said it was the MAGIC of life. I only called it that for a lack of better words. There is no life magic, creation magic, death magic, void magic, or destruction magic. To our knowledge, of course."

"So...life is innately magical but it...isn't? Or do you just mean that life is pretty neat and magic's best friends with it and doesn't want to hurt it?"
