Just finished the Time Patrols of the second DLC. Generally liked it better than the default Time Patrols.
Decided to start on it as the Time Shards were eluding me. Standard explanation by Trunks and Supreme Kai about time you are about to enter. Starts the beginning of Time point cutscene as usual. I teleported in behind them. Thought it was going to be fairly standard run of the others trading off comments. Did not expect one of them, Pan, to address my character. After some wondering about if we were distant relatives (playing as a Saiyan), she then gave another explanation of the situation. Made her a bit more human in my opinion. True, it was explained earlier, but she didn't know that and made an attempt to get a new ally to know what the situation was. I don't think this happened in the regular Time Patrols. Another thing that was unexpected was being thanked at the end of the mission. While the way the dialogue was said was a bit awkward (sounded there was an unnecessary comma at one point), it is the first time I think my character was ever thanked inside a mission.
Ran straight on into the second part. Went through the 20 person mission fairly easily, then ran into difficulties with the next one, Neo-Ginyu Force. As it was a 5 on 1, I couldn't really get any attack off without getting struck by another person. This didn't really be a concern in the prior, as the enemies in that one were weak, but in this one they could deal a fair amount of damage, and I hadn't restocked my inventory with healing items yet, so I only had an Energy Capsule S. I decided to fall back on my strategy of flying around taking potshots at the opponent using basic ki blasts. When I was getting in the mindset of thinking I was going to be there awhile, Trunks (GT) shows up and knocks out two of them easily. I was elated with the intervention, as, afterwards, we managed to knock down the rest with a bit of difficulty, but nothing too much. GT Trunks being knocked out by 17 was a minor shock. Especially when I had some minor difficulty in taking 17 down myself. With Future Trunks talking to me about the danger of him fusing with the other 17, I actually believed it.
Managed to beat 17 so that he ran off to meet with the other 17, then the fusion to make Super 17 occurred. An attempted attack made me immediately worried, as I barely dealt any damage to him, while he could deal quite a bit back to me. Actually believed that he was dangerous. After failing a couple times, I backed out and applied some levels I had gotten (had stats of a 58, increased them to a 60) and restocked my inventory. Went back into the fight, and, after a struggle that I felt somewhat matched the pace the music was at, scraped out a victory. Quite enjoyed how at the end of this Goku recognized the prior battle.
Moved onto DLC 2. Entered to help out Goku as Pan left to chase after some robot thing. Halfway through match, got a message from Trunks about Pan being under attack. I know a bit about GT, so knew this was something to be concerned about. Blitzed the second half of the enemy's health bar, then flew over to the area I needed to be. Found it interesting that Goku didn't show up, as well as Pan's comment about how she shouldn't rely upon him. Made the end of that fight felt fairly good (Idle speculation: might have been better if after that comment, they had her go Super Saiyan). Omega Shenron showed up soon after. Thought I would be fighting him with Pan, when Vegeta enters like a badass. Commentary throughout the first part about him not being able to fight Omega alone made me think he was referring to the player character, but, nope, fusion with Goku. Made me a tad disappointed. Ended the fight and was dragged into a wormhole.
Final brawl started with my character and Gogeta having crashed into the area with the pillars (don't know the name of the map). When the enemies came in (Baby, Super 17, Omega), I really enjoyed how they commented about my character (know what, I'm just going to use his name from here on out. It's Carbon) had been a major reason they didn't triumph. Found it interesting how they commented about their conflicting goals. Managed to drag the fight to an area Baby couldn't path to after a time. I fought with Super 17, who had been the enemy to give me the most trouble, while Gogeta was fighting with Omega Shenron. Occasionally was a crossover between the fights, but it eventually got like that. Managed to knock out 17, but my elation was cut short at noticing Gogeta was in the red with his health. Rushed over to assist, and we took to fighting Omega. At some point, Gogeta went over and tried to fight Baby and was KO'd. As he had earlier mentioned not using his full power, and my immersion led me to believing this. Took down Omega on my own. At this point, I was only down to one healing item, and, after fighting Baby for awhile, used it up. Health was then taken down fairly severely by an attack by Baby, so I took to exploiting the terrain to the best of my ability until I ended the fight. Considering how it was laid out at the start as being of critical importance, felt quite good to manage to complete it in one attempt, and by the skin of my teeth at that. After battle conversation between Carbon, Trunks, Vegeta, and Goku could have been done a bit better, but I found it was a pretty good end point.
Oh, here's my character, by the way.
Level 60 (Actually 61, but I haven't applies stats for that level yet.)
Health: 27
Ki: 42
Stamina: 9
Basic Attacks: 48
Strike Supers: 6
Ki Supers: 48
Moveset:
Ki Blast Cannon (Found this to be really good for staggering my opponent or sending them far off)
Maximum Charge (Not really used too much anymore.)
Kamehameha (Used sporadically, for when I need a continuous attack.)
Instant Transmission (Best. Move. Ever.)
Super Saiyan 2 (Would use original Super Saiyan, as my strategy is to strike at enemies with strong and weak attacks, while always staying on top of them with Instant Transmission and staggering with Ki Blast Cannon, until I build up a full/almost full amount of Ki, after which I use a bunch of Crusher Volcanoes. Decided to use Super Saiyan 2 as it is the higher in-universe boost.)
Crusher Volcano (Deals similar damage to Final Flash, but across 7 energy balls that track. In my opinion, is a bit better, though seems a bit easier to block.)
-Evasive Move I barely ever, if ever, use-
