ok so heres the issue, i have too much fps, i recently got a new computer and i ported all of my saves and my installs to the new computer, now when i play a save file the game runs so fast maybe 1000 fps or so, a whole season goes by in like 5 minutes, its almost unplayable

You can set limits in the GUI, first page. The default is 150. dfhack allows to do this while running DF, just type "setfps number", with the number being the max you want. I often run setfps 500 for test forts.
