Stacking vengeful thoughts
« on: February 25, 2015, 10:08:07 am »

This is quite a scary negative stack. The entire squad got these, and I'm genuinely surprised there were no insta-tantrums.

All these thoughts came from human caravan guards firing at some vultures. The militia dwarfes weren't fighting themselves , they were standing behind walls , shouting war cries into the thin air and getting all stressed for nothing.

Is there any way to prevent this? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thankyou.

P.S: And DONT tell me I have to dump the entire caravan into magma.

It has nothing to do with the caravan, their reaction is normal.
You dorfs will feel vengeful when they saw hostile animals.

Buzzards(vultures?), keas, great horned owl, etc...

So, either you put those severely vengeful dorfs inside so they don't see the conflicts, or you can lock up your fort while trading.

Rain magma down upon the vultures. Anyone caught outside is acceptable collateral damage. Interior magma flooding because somebody forgot to close the drawbridge is bonus Fun.

They even get vengefull thoughts without seeing the conflict... so annoying

Dwarfs get vengeful thoughts from seeing thieves of any kind, no combat required. It's already been reported in earlier versions, but clearly not fixed; one flock of six keas can still slap a stack of a dozen vengeful thoughts on a dwarf just by circling around in the distance.

It's annoying enough that i hacked all thieves to be flightless in one fort; this way, the military can at least deal with the problem.
