Epilogue
In a new lavish room at the first cavern.

Mea: My overseer-ship is done.

Hood: You did not state the current population.  Such omission is not easily overlooked.

Mea: In that regard, I at least protected my children.  But some citizens are depressed.  Even on the first day, citizens were missing, and some were abandoned and lost in caverns somehow.

Hood: But you did not discover who is the culprit for those deaths.

Mea: I must admit, it is beyond my skills.  I at least manage to rescue three.

Hood: And your compassion to the depressed cause unnecessary death of the innocent.

Mea: Yes, I suppose that I realize that is how dwarven justice works.

Hood: Do not be more critical to yourself, Mea. You made some mark to the history of Crewedgears.  Look at the completed First Cavern Fortifications.  This gives a foot hold to the first cavern should the military deems it worthy a conquest or control.

Mea: I must admit that the armory is the source of most of my motives.  Iron bars are made into steel, flux moved closer to forges. Steel armor sets are made.

Hood: Those are labors well spent from logistics and preparations of previous overseers.

Mea: I agree.  I merely evaluated the stocks and commit to making armor of what is available, and continue to replenish the metal stocks.

Hood: I am sure the military leaders will appreciate the completed Elevated Markdwarf Training Facility as well.

Mea: The spot just seems practical at the time.  I was more interested on the surface floors of the barracks where I spent a lot of my time training.

Hood: I do appreciate your effort on the main walls and fortifications.

Mea: It is better to keep out the unwanted guests than to commit to battle unprepared, or at a disadvantage.

Hood:  It is a marvel that dirt floors with sapling and trees pose a threat to the foundation below constructed floros.

Mea: Yes they do, so constructions of floors or paved roads will address these issues.

Hood: Do you think it is conspiracy that you end up near Bloodfall Chasm when you ordered the moat to be “cleaner looking”

Mea: It is not all about aesthetic but rather practical defensive architecture.

A dirt floor adjacent to the moat and next to wall is a risk for climbing or jumping invaders.
However, that dirt channeled makes the moat drain onto Bloodfall Chasm.
To fix the issue, pouring magma on water to seal the leak from the casted obsidian wall.

To which then leads to creating a magma filling room with drain.

Hood: Clever.  But I believe there is a minecart system in place.

Mea: I’ve seen the tracks, but I felt no time to study it to make it work for my needs.  So I went with my own magma filling room plans.

Hood: Very well, I am glad that you addressed the lack of booze issue.

Mea:  We did not run out, but I would agree that is the same as lack of booze.

I asked for more farm plots to plant available surface seeds, brew plants, and make leather and cloth clothes.  The food issue seems to be stable.

I shall take my leave now. I have some recruits to drill in the use of mace.

The End.
