Counter-attacking isn't an action you can take freely. You can only make one under certain circumstances. To respond to an attack, you can dodge, dodge roll, block with a shield, or block with a weapon.

Turn 11, Part 3
(AD:1;ED:5,1;2) Ronald deflects the Undead's fist with his sword, the weapon taking 2 damage, and swiftly counter-attacks. (AD:8,1;ED:6;16,5,0) He plunges his sword into the Unarmed Undead's right leg for 5 damage. The wound does not bleed significantly.

He follows it up with another swing at the Unarmed Undead. (AD:4,2;ED:6) Unfortunately, he misses.

Ricard swings at the Undead Warrior. (AD:5,2,2;ED:1;12,6) He hits the Undead hard in the torso for 6 damage. It goes limp as the blow connects, and ragdolls onto its back in front of Nelly. A small pool of blood forms under its head, and then it is completely still.

Svante moves to the body and picks up his other knife.

Darek attempts to climb out of the pit again. (Climb: 5) He still can't make it to the top.

The Undead Archer fires an arrow at Ronald from his side. (AD:5;ED:3;12,6) He takes an arrow to the side of his torso for 6 damage.
