Malcolm seeing Helena walk downstairs before anyone checked for traps changes his mind about throwing his shoes. He decides to wait to see what happens to Helena first. He then walks downstairs after Helena

Alphonse runs to the torch.

Gilbert listens carefully. (Listen: 13) He hears an occasional clattering sound, but nothing more.

Malcolm throws his shoe down the staircase. Nothing happens.

Helena jogs 12m to the stairs.

Hordor waits.

Jiggle, wiggle, and pull on the torch in every direction. VA check on the torch-holder.

Turn 22, Part 1
Alphonse jiggles, wiggles, fiddles, riddles and shimmies the torch, to no effect. (Visual Acuity: 14) He's pretty sure there's nothing special about this torch, other than it still being alight.

Gilbert thinks all due caution has been taken, says, "I hear something up ahead." and then beckons the rest to follow.

Gilbert goes down the stairs.

Malcolm retrieves his shoe and carelessly runs down the stairs.

Helena calmly walks downstairs.

Gilbert jogs downstairs.



Hordor looks around carefully. (Visual Acuity: 14) He doesn't see anything from here.

Helena gestures to the door and readies her bow.

"You guys haven't found any arrows, have you?"

Malcolm opens the door

"Gilbert, can you go through first, as you can see you are the least wounded of us here at the moment. Other than Helena of course, but she's a lady and lady's don't go first."

Turn 23, Part 1
Malcolm opens the door.


Pale patches on the wall suggest that there used to be paintings or something similar decorating the walls of this room. A rug heavily laden with dust is still on the floor.

The party rolls initiative.
