OK-- Imagine an enormous snail with a very tough but insanely flexible outer skin, completely plugging the hallway with its body, and gruesomely shredding anything living in its path with a rough, barbed tongue.

If it helps, snails have a very graphic means of eating other animal forms, called a radula.

Additionally, some species of sea snail have evolved a harpoon like structure that is capable of injecting powerful neurotoxins.

So, imagine a slow moving, unstoppable monster inching its way down hallways, engulfing and shredding things alive once engulfed.
The Snail Brute is no longer hungry. And its appearance no longer harmless.

I disagree, nonsentient creatures shouldn't give a bad thought to anything but the most weak willed of dwarves but seeing the mangled corpse of something you could have had a conversation with should be jarring even if they're the enemy.

I doubt a dwarf could have a conversation with a snail brute.

On the item is an image of a dwarf and an elephant. The elephant is striking down the dwarf.

For old times' sake.

As much as with anyone else.

Snail brute: I know why you have come, mortal.
Urist: It was inevitable.
Snail brute: Look at the sky! Are we in the Underworld?
Urist: At least it doesn't rain down here.
Snail brute: I don't care one way or the other.
Urist: Just now, snail brute attacked me.
Snail brute: It was inevitable.
Snail brute: What's going on?! Is this an attack?
Urist: This is a fight! I have a part in this!
Urist: Gruesome wounds! Begone fear!
Snail brute: Death is all around us! How fleeting life is...

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.
