Animals need a fix?
« on: February 20, 2015, 11:07:31 pm »

Most of those wild types are no long aggressive anymore. Dwarves will have vengeful thoughts and want to kill them even if they haven't do anything bad to them. Nowadays the fights are usually started by the dwarves, unless the other side are evil creatures.

Elephants, wolves and giant lions are all peaceful. That is until a dorf decides to put crossbow bolts in their faces. What is even worse, they prefer to run from your dorfs. They only try to defend themselves when the dorfs catch them.

But something like great horn owls and buzzards will cause tons of vengeful thoughts and interrupt jobs. It is hard to believe your dorfs are more concerned about some birds than giant lions roaming near their bedrooms.

I miss the time where a Elephant was still a danger. Boatmurdered anyone?
I mean, com'on, where's the fun when Gobbos and their lakais are the only dangers.
Mother nature needs to be dangerous again as well in the DF universe.

Speaking of dangers. Vengeful thought is your new enemy. There is no way to avoid them unless you turtle underground.

Edit*

Several minutes later:

So animals are dangerous, in a different way. :P
