After a briefe moment of searching for the cordial that she never got refunded for Akira decided to search Tadhg.

Akira mercilessly loots her fallen comrade and finds he still has the cordials and potion Risey provided in a satchel on his belt. He also has lots of gold!

---

In the death realm, Tadhg feels ghostly hands picking his pockets, while death puts him into an vertical suplex.

"LOOKS LIKE YOUR FRIENDS ARE LOOTING YOU ALREADY. HOW RUDE.

ANYWAY-NOW, IT'S TIME FOR THE DEATH DROP."

Uh oh.

"Just like my old heisting days..."
Akira opens up Tadhg's mouth and pours in a cordial.

Tadhg's body slam into deaths wrestling mat is softer than he anticipated-like falling into a snowbank.

He also tastes a grape flavor on his tongue. Nice. He thinks he'll just lay here for awhile.

Death struts off with his scythe in hand.

''...UNTIL OUR NEXT GAME, MR. MAELOC." Death says in a friendly, sinister voice. He tips his hood and vanishes into the probably metaphorical mists.

[He's not bleeding out anymore...but he's still unconscious]

"Come then. We must get out of this cold." Sarco mumbled as he moved over to Tadhgs limp body. "Hopefully their fire was still going and they collected plenty of fuel." Sarco carefully picked up Tadhgs body and started carrying him towards the cave. "Can you go check it out and make sure that there are no more surprises in store for us Miss Akira?"

Tadhg feels a sense of mild contentment and growing power from the wisps as they return to the Orb-apparently the meal wasn't very enjoyable, but they do feel 'full'.

He feels a queer stretching sensation in his mind, as the Wisps regain some of their old strength and more besides...he senses their consumption is related to their new abilities-an aggressive trait for feeding on the elves, and a more passive ability after consuming the non-sentient Ooze's life force...their voices burble in his mind (politely, as if afraid of him), a little louder and stronger now, and slightly less chaotic.

"Holder...thank you...we're....feeding...grow power...to feed...and more...Holder...you're welcome...destroy...enemies...hide...Holder...help...friends...hurt...friends...kill...feed...friends...Holder...kill...Holder..."

Wisp Orb Lv.3
New Ability: Shocking Swarm
The Wisps can now be ordered to directly attack opponents, as per the 'Shocking Grasp' spell-Sarco can order them to do this a free action on his turn. Every attack reduces the duration they are summoned by 10 seconds, so they can do at most 5 attacks before being forced to return. Enemies directly killed by this ability generate 50% more experience for the Orb. They may attempt to use this ability without your permission, on those close to death. They can only do a single ability at any one time.

New Ability: Mist Shield
The Wisps can be ordered to guard a target as a free action-they will form a misty shield either in a 3x3 box (15ft by 15ft), or around a target, providing the same effect as half cover to all friendly characters within the shield, +2 to AC and an advantage on all dexterity checks from being targeted from outside the mist. They will cunningly deny this same advantage to hostile enemies who attempt to enter the cloud. Every turn they spend shielding reduces the duration they are summoned by 10 seconds, so they can do at most 5 turns before being forced to return. They can only do a single ability at any one time.

Kawtari helps move her unconscious companion into the mouth of the mine. As an afterthought, she brings the toolbox, too, and cracks it open to see if there was anything useful inside.

Kawtari wipes the snow off the lid and checks-it's unlocked. Inside are bunches of mundane tools, many of them quite undersized for Kobold hands, but distinctly well made. She notes a passing similarity between the metal work done on her own armor, and the equipment-she can hazard a guess which Dwarf forged these.

Spoiler: Toolchest (click to show/hide)

---

Akira nods and goes to scout out the cavern.

Akira enters the dusky confines carefully, keeping an eye out for trouble...all she finds are about two dozen pairs of glowing red eyes staring back at her from the darkness. There's alot of Kobolds here, hiding in the darkness-not only adults, but young Kobold pups.

"Yark! Svaust re wux? Drehlnik!?" One of them asks her timidly-a short fellow with yellow skin, a stub for a tail, and a missing left ear. A few of them seem to pick up on this word, until they're all chanting 'Drehlnik' at her. They seem about to flee back into the depths of the cave, but more than a few have grubby miners tools clutched in their claws.

She has no idea what they are saying-it's a sort of yapping lizard tongue that makes no sense to her.

Sarco nods his mental head to the wisps as he continues to bring Tadhg to the safety of the cave. Once he gets inside and sees the Kobolds he stops, nervously eying their weapons, then offers in Draconic "Cousins? We come in peace! We slew the monsters of ooze, although one of us were grievously wounded in the fight." He gestures to Tadgh.

Akira looks about in mild panic before nodding yes to try and appease the crowd.

This seems to terrify them. The bolder one seems to grow angry, and he motions for them to advance upon Akira-many of them raise their tiny weapons.

"Wux geou vessa hesi aurix, drehlnik!" He pipes.

This just confuses them. The seeming leader speaks up again, in Kobold-accented Draconic.

"=You slew the Death Slime? It had slain many, and trapped us here...you have our thanks, Tallbrother, and our aid...yet...

Why did your friend agree when we called you bandits*? Does she speak not the Dragon Tongue?="
He asks, slightly lowering his weapon. Maybe he realizes it wouldn't be much of a fight anyway.

*Drehlnik is Draconic for 'bandit'

Sarco shakes his head sadly before replying "No, I believe it is ignorant of the greater language. And I am sorry to hear of your losses to those monsters. Do not fear, as we are not bandits. Although at this time we work as mercenaries. Would you mind if we come out of the cold and snow though? We must attend to my ally here and tend to my own wounds."
