Party Identified=Lampsur=
Large, round, bright orange fruits noted for their powerful rejuvenation and healing properties-when several fruits are mixed into a meal, the character gains an additional resting HD for that day. Really quite delicious. Grows in areas rich with rain and life, in almost any season, soil, and climate.
=Bastit=
A grimy looking weed with serrated round leaves and small green berries. The berries can be processed into a potent insect repellent that can be rubbed on the skin. Difficult to find, they are found by rivers and wetlands
=Whitecandle=
Long, tube shaped white flowers, with a silky cast. Can be processed into a mild pain reliever. Blooming by rivers and wetlands, they are fairly rare and take some skill to find.
Tadhg's Knowledge=Belan=
A dark green, corkscrewing lichen that grows on rocks near the warmers seasides. It is a common medicine in Saffer medicine pouches, as poultices made from this plant are very handy at stopping bleeding.
Sarco's Knowledge=Febfendu=
The Febfendu is an enchanted water plant related to and frequently mistaken for the waterlily, native to cool, temperate wetlands and streams, such as Sarco's homeland. It has dark green rounded-heart-shaped leaves which float on the water, and beautiful large yellow flowers. When its root tubers are boiled, the tea or broth are known to help cure hearing problems.
=Melander=
The Melander has large, pointed leaves, which are usually dark green. It also grows quite large flowers, which can be dark yellow, light brown, silver and dark pink. They are common to temperate wetlands and streams. They can be chewed raw (they taste fairly terrible) to help one fight the effects of disease.
=Olus Veritis=
The Olus Veritis has huge, rosette leaves, which are usually dark green. It also grows tiny flowers, which can be dark grey, or light bronze-black. It has an oily sheen when fresh. It it rare enough, but when the oil is processed it can produce a powerful, yet subtle narcotic-Olus Veritis influences the user to tell the truth, making the world take on an air of affability and friendliness to even his worst enemies. It grows only in the deepest and hottest wetlands, in shady areas.
Aldeth's Knowledge=Thurl=
Thurl is a common, small plant and can be found near any roadside in temperate regions. It blooms once a year, for 1 month. It has thick, sickle shaped leaves, which are usually yellow-green-these curved leaves are harvested for their healing properties, though it takes many to achieve a strong effect. Due to it's unique cycle, many Holy Festivals and rituals to goodly Deities occur during the Thurl blooming season, where they are ritually gathered by villagers and clerics for making healing goods.
=Teriko Weed=
The Teriko Weed is a very common plant and can be found in most regions of Napathica-it is a simple creeper, with small green bulbs that sprout tiny white flowers year round. Interestingly enough, Teriko's only use is as a male contraceptive-a single bulb can make a man infertile for at least a week. Women who wish to avoid pregnancy sometimes sneak Teriko Weeds into their paramours food-it tastes like any leafy vegetable when cooked.
=Lungwort=
Lungworts are evergreen plants that form small rosettes of brightly colored flowers-they alternate from red, to blue, to an even-handed bruise color. It grows in damp areas of high elevation. When processed, it's useful for treating cough and lung disease.
=Tamariske=
A common long grass in dry lands, Tamariske is a distinctive bright red-places where it grows in abundance are called 'fields of blood', and it is rumored to grow on old battlefields to mark the dead. Tamariske is chewed-usually be nomads on long marches-to stave off infection when healing from wounds, and to improve the smell of ones breath.
=Guardseye=
A plant with smooth, dark blue leaves, and a woody stem. It has white, cuplike flowers, with purple flecks on the inside. In autumn, the plant dies except for it's thick root than-but even dead, it does not shed its leaves. It grows in colder grassland and tundra regions of Nepathica. Thus the all year availability, for it is the leaves that are important. When cooked in water, the resulting tea will grant the drinker a ability to supernaturally sense life in a short distance around him-this is usually referred to as 'opening the third eye'. Guardseye is very useful, but also very dangerous-the feeling of enhancing ones senses past the norm is incredibly euphoric and addictive.
Kawtari's Knowledge=Aldaka=
A rare plant that grows in dark, tainted places, in nearly all climates-it resembles a thin grey-blue strand. Aldaka is usually brewed in tea to improve ones eyesight-it can even help restore damaged eyesight and alleviate blindness.
=Fennel=
Fennel is common in dry rural areas all around Nepathica-it has thick stems, and bright green, lacy leaves and routinely grows to about five feet in height. (There is a rare form which has a bronze stem. In terms of its use, it is identical to the common fennel). In summer it has golden, yellow flowers. The seed heads must be harvested and left until the seeds separate from them. The seeds may then be mixed with boiling water to make a tea. This tea has the effect of relieving hunger pains, however it does not in anyway act as a substitute for food, and any damage due to starvation will still occur.
=Spring Adonis=
These flowers have feathery, finely divided leaves. Their flowers are red, yellow or orange. The summer Adonis is a common enough sight around Nepathica, and is usually crushed and added to food to promote healthy circulation-those with heart conditions often take them frequently.
Samara's Knowledge=Laishaberries=
Laishaberries, also known as fruit of silence, grow on dark green, knee-high bushes in cold Northern forests. The leaves of the bushes are hard and waxy, and stay on long into autumn, sometimes even into winter. Concealed under the leaves, the red, cherry sized berries grow. In spring and early summer, the bush grows small, fragrant, wax blue flowers. The berries, which are equally fragrant, begin as hard white fruits, turning soft, red, and juicy as they ripen. The berries taste quite bland themselves, although they can be used to add a special taste to all kinds of jellies. When ripe, the berries can be eaten raw, and will each heal damage, or speed the recovery from most diseases. They also have a minor side-effect of paralyzing the vocal muscles for about a half hour or more, making them a sneaky sort of poison to use on Wizard.
=Golden Crown=
The golden flowers of this small yellow-green plant thrive in subtropcial regions-they may be made into a poultice that is used to stop bleeding, it is a gentle and much used herb. This herb is often used by midwives to staunch the flow of bleeding after birth.
=Wolfsbane=
A plant that grows a small pillar of purple flowers, it's innocuous nature hides a terrible threat-those who consume the Wolfsbane whole are infected with a deadly form of lycanthropy, turning them into the dreaded half-man half-beasts by moonlight that threaten rural areas. There are many subtle variations, for different forms of lycanthropes-Ratbane, for example. A very skilled herbalist, however, can process the plant into a potion that temporally alleviates the symptoms of one who has already been infected, though it is no permanent cure.
=Oiolosse=
A very rare, bone white flower that grows deep in the heart of forests of all climates-Oiolosse is an extremely potent healing herb, nearly legendary for it's ability to bring someone back from the very verge of death. It is prized by the rich and powerful, who consume them with ardor, claiming they improve longevity.
=Nightshade=
This plant can grow up to five feet tall. It has soft green spreading leaves, and purple flowers and berries. They are deadly poison-the berries can be left to stand in water for a week-and the ensuing distillation, when drunk, sends one into an eternal slumber from which there is no waking-they still draw breath, but that is all.
=Terbas=
A bright red moss that grows in certain warm forests, Terbas is usually chewed or smoked-it steadies reflexes and increases hand-eye coordination, and even helps recover from nerve damage. It is a mild euphoric, and steadily addictive-heavy Terbas users tend to be noted by their quick, jittery movements and loss of long term memory.
=Elvish Galingale=
Elvish Galingale grows to about four feet in height. It has a triangular stem on which grows a tuft of grass like flowers. This herb, when processed, increases the flow of blood. This is very useful when a person is cold, keeping them warm. However if a person is bleeding, either internally or externally, it will exacerbate this condition-sometimes lethally. It is rumored that Elven Assassins and Courtiers sometimes employ Galingale on their weapons to kill a target thought indirect force, usually thought seemingly 'accidental' and seemingly minor injuries.
Feclan's Knowledge=Gylvir=
Gylvir is an edible, but slimy and utterly foul-tasting algae found on temperate saltwater shores. It has the amazing property of allowing an air-breather to water-breathe for four hours by chewing on it. One recommend washing out the taste with rum.
=Degiik=
Degiik is a short to medium-sized enchanted bush native to humid, tropical ocean shores. It grows up to 4' tall; it has bright green, oval leaves about 2" long, pale pink flowers with five petals about 1" wide, and small red berries. Its young leaves are edible and precious-they can prolong life when death would otherwise snatch it away. A quick bite stops bleeding and even more dire lethal magical effects.
=Anserke=
Anserkë is a a short bush distantly native to humid, tropical ocean shores. It grows up to 3' tall; it has dark green, glossy, round leaves about 1" long and pale yellow flowers with ten petals about 0.5" wide which produce a small yellow berry. Its roots contain a powerful astringent which stops any bleeding a few minutes after the root is prepared by and applied to the wound.
=Lauranama=
This tree has round purple fruit, which are about the size and consistency of plums-it grows in most tropical regions. When eaten this fruit will heal 2 hp per fruit. These fruits cannot be dried and will rot within two weeks of picking. However the juice of three fruits can be mixed with olive (or other vegetable) oil, and left to stand for a week. This oil has an almost unlimited life. Rubbing this oil into the recipients skin will ease muscle pains, and also restore 1d4 hit points.
