Why are squares on my map blinking?
« on: February 19, 2015, 09:25:03 am »

On my laptop, my map (fortress mode) some of the squares are blinking.  When I k over the square I find that it is rapidly cycling thru a list.  I can't seem to stop the cycling and it is going to fast to read the items.

Thanks for your help.

It is probably just trying to show all object that are on one tile. More units on one tile do this, gem windows made from different materials too...
Where are these tiles located? Are there any units there or are those just items?

It sounds like there is some raw duplication error going on. Have you done any raw modding in the inorganics files (like removing aquifers), or have you installed any mods?

You probably have a file called errorlog.txt in your Dwarf Fortress folder. Does it say anything about duplicated entries?

I also think it's trying to show multiple objects on one tile.  But I think normally times there is a static list.  There are no units on the tiles in question.  The tiles are outdoors.  I think I designated harvest trees and/or harvest plants on those tiles.

I'm not home.  Will look for the errorlog.txt when I get there.   Thanks.

Does it look like this? If so, your raws are either insufficient (e.g. you have no types of soil defined) or corrupted.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
