If they have archers, I can just Sleep their backline and toss my Flaming Sphere in after. Not fuckin' elves this time.  :P
And you could grease the entrance so they have a hard time entering safely and after they get in set a section of the floor alight.

Yeah, that's probably the safest way to handle it.

Kawtari armed herself with her bow, taking cover behind the doors.

((What are you doing with the rope btw? Just letting it drop?

Also, map update.))

I did have an action to look around for places to secure it to...

Quote
Kawtari lets her grappling hook fly across the water-she has no chance of missing a non-moving target, especially when not under the pressure of active battle. It flies through the lower rung of the ladder, it's grapple snagging securely, then she pulls it taut.

She is sure she could attach the end of the rope to one of the vents-they have a number of small protrusions that might be valves.

Maybe I edited in and you missed it.

Mayhaps. I'll attach the grapple's chain to those, then.

That distance was a little wider than I remembered. Just stepping up to be in range to Grease the doorway.

They are Sahuagin, been D&D monster staples since 1975. :P

And at the moment they're clustered very nicely.

Oh... Because of the underground environment and the goofy fish in the picture I assumed it was their lesser cousins completely unrelated fish people, the Kuo-Toa. I see know that you even wrote Sahuagin several times. Silly me :P

Yeah, by the lore they are pretty much the same species-the only difference is the Kuo-toa were either kidnapped/driven/fled some eldritch evils into the underdark. At some point they either escaped/were released from this servitude and now they're crazy *and* religious, with a tendency to fervently worship anything that seems powerful.

In game terms, this means they will sacrifice you to their bizarro Gods when they capture you.

As opposed to Sahuagin, who will just eat you, if they bother to capture you.

Nu uh! Sahuagin are scary shark people, Kuo-Toa is goofy fish people. Sahuagin conquered the seas and oceans, Kuo-Toa wallow in filthy, fetid murk-pools in the underdark! Sahuagin crushed the lesser races and sent them in exile to the poorest, pitiest waters, Kuo-Toa has to bend knees and soil themselves with work for unclean masters! Sahuagin is blessed by the gods with superior physique and intellect, Kuo-Toa more like dumb Kuo-Toads! Sahuagin, Scourge of the Deep Waters! Kuo-Toa, Guppy of Stinky Pool! Sahuagin Master Race! SA-HUA-GIN! SA-HUA-GIN! SA-HUA-GI-

...Pardon me, I seem to have gotten a little bit excited. What I really mean is that I usually envision Sahuagin as more shark-like and predatory in appearance and the Kuo-Toa as more small fish. I definitely hate sahuagin, though, and will certainly not have any divided loyalties in the upcoming fight. *Re-applies make-up and makes sure no bulbous fish-eyes can be seen through the human-face-mask*

It means, roughly, "Birthing of tiny sun." I swear.
