Yep.

IMO, it's only cliche if it's truly random. If it makes sense in the context of the story, it's plot. :P

Actually, I just don't like cliche plot twists.
Wasn't it you who said cliches were good in the mech game thread?

Anyway, I'm assuming I got my armour back? It ordinary studded leather? should be masterwork for the damn price

Personally, I think a cliche but well written plot is much better then a more original but poorly made one. I mean, a original and well written one is the best obviously. But, that's a lot harder to do.

By the way, dwarmin, the reason Tadhg has 15 in ac despite not wearing any armour is a Barbarian ability that allows you to get your Con + Dex modifier as ac if you aren't wearing any.

So if you think Warforged Paladuns might be overpowered, you should really worry about those warforged barbarians with that ability + their naked 12 ac :P

Also I will be finishing descriptions for all the Barbarian abilities he's got at this level tonight, after I cook dinner. I .thoughtvi had already done that, but I must've gotten it mistaken with the Paladin I originally planned on.

Recalling the messenger artifice Kawtari had described, Samara sighed softly. It might have been coincidence, but that... was unlikely. It would depend on what the half-breed found, she supposed, but there was no harm in being certain.

'Go, friend,' she thought to her raven, 'Follow the strange one. Find the camp.'

Her familiar deployed, Samara carefully moved to the rear of the group, and spoke, "Now, my dear, why don't you tell us why we are truly out here? I am of an ancient line, and my own family has made use of the same artifacts for private communications since time immemorial. I doubt it is coincidence that one went out when you believed that we were willing to aid you, in the same direction that we traveled today. Is your supposedly mad crush waiting in ambush with a pack of thieves, perhaps?"

I have no idea what is going on in thus post or what Samara is referring to.

I'm pretty sure she is accusing Risey of sending out a commutation device to set us up for a ambush. Although it's a bit confusing.

Edit: There is a bit of a issue that the owl left before we decided to take this job though.

Yeah, she didn't refer to her by name, it seems. Otherwise it's clear enough.

Yeah...

Though it's obviously trying to stay out of sight, hiding on an underhanging porch beam underneath the eaves of Risey's Store (Sunrise is written in a fancy arc, with bright orange letters), Kawtari spots an odd sight indeed.

At first it seems to be an small bird...an unnaturally pale owl...

Just family business. :P

Edit: There is a bit of a issue that the owl left before we decided to take this job though.

No one was watching her very closely last night, sadly...Tadhg was much too tired to notice her obvious deceit!

I don't think tripping is actually a thing in 5E weirdly. (as a basic thing.)

Well, there is shoving prone-I just ruled that, in true spiked chain fashion, Kaw could try to ranged trip with her hammer.

It's basically a ranged grapple. With grapple you can knock someone down or move them five foot in a direction.

Yeah, you got to be a special kind of Fighter to get access to be able to do basic combat stuff like parrying, tripping, or feinting. But I guess everyone else can still do it with a common attack roll and descriptive DM:ing ;)
