Okay, so proficiency bonuses are +2 and the stat bonus right? Or just the proficiency?

Both, +2, and your stat bonus.

Cool, then I'll get to work on the flavor since I already did those.

I got a question, about the knight background, does the vehicle proficiency mean we can gain proficiency with a mount of some kind? And if so, do we pick a specific mount, or just mounts in general?

Land vehicles prof is pretty much catchall for everything-you can ride horses and elephants, drive carts, buggies, unicycles...you don't have to specify, I don't think.

Samara Oestel, High Elf Wizard, who is certainly not running from anything.

Now that I've had a chance to look over it in more depth, I really love what they've done with arcane casting in 5e. Between retaining at-will cantrips (thank the gods) and the way Ritual spells work for Wizards, I can actually prepare stuff for helping the party rather than worrying about utility spells and silver bullets for bad situations.

I'll PM you the details of the school up to 2nd level and my spells, since I don't recall offhand what is or isn't in the basic rules vis-a-vis the PHB.

And hey, funny story. I actually spent more time looking for a fucking image for my character than I did choosing spells, and eventually changed his appearance to her appearance because I couldn't steal find one for a male elf that didn't look like a complete tosser who'd been drawn by a young child.

You'll also do more damage and get more attacks earlier than any except the most optimized fighter. Huzzah!

Yeah, it wasn't fun running out of spells, and being forced to use your...light crossbow. :P

I finished writing stuff in my sheet. So someone should look it over.

Also, just a suggesting but we should probably write stuff down about our character's general attitudes towards the group since the group has been together for a while already.

Dwarmin, maximum of 15 points in any stat according to the base rules. That true for this?

I thought the absolute max was 20.

15 before racial adjustments.

Yep, from the rules:

Quote
You have 27 points to spend on your ability scores.
The cost o f each score is shown on the Ability Score
Point Cost table. For example, a score o f 14 costs 7
points. Using this method, 15 is the highest ability score
you can end up with, before applying racial increases.
You can’t have a score lower than 8.

20 is 3.5 and PF.
