Your face is still clean-shaven since yesterday, though your hair's all a mess. It snags the comb several times as you straighten out the red brambles into a somewhat more composed neck-length arrangement, parted on the left. Perhaps you should get it cut soon, though not today. You're still amazed at how smooth your skin is, after the horrible acne you used to get, but for the past year or so it hasn't been a problem. Your pale brown eyes look fine, not bloodshot but a bit dark underneath from tiredness. That will go away in a few hours though.

After you wash your face and brush your teeth, you feel like much time hasn't passed, so you might have time do something while your phone charges a bit more (not enough time to make toast, though).

You entertain the idea of being smaller than you currently are, but it doesn't pass much more than 2 minutes before you get bored of it. It'll be another 5 minutes before that phone is charged enough to last a couple hours (you figure you can come back and charge it some more after class, probably while you shower), and 9 minutes before you absolutely must leave. The responsible thing to do would be to brush up on your reading, but you are tempted to check the computer. Or, perhaps, you could go to the dorm kitchen and see if you can't steal have a quick snack.

You head downstairs to the dorm kitchen. Passing the common room, sure enough, you see your roommate, or someone at least, asleep on the couch beneath a pile of blankets. It would probably be rude to check who, though. You reach the fridge and take a look inside. There is a lot of pasta in there, and some other dinner type things in tupperware, but you don't have time to microwave any of them, and you'd almost certainly piss someone off stealing one of those. Checking the freezer, you see a few things you might take that wouldn't be missed. A pack of chocolate snack cakes, a bag of wafer cookies (for some reason), and an ice cream sandwich... on second thought, that would probably be missed.

Snack cakes it is. You unwrap and scarf down two of them, noting the cream filling. These must be the same kind they used to have for desert, on occasion, back in that cafeteria in high school. They take a bit longer to eat than you thought they would, so you figure it's probably time to go. You head out the front door... crap, your bag! And your shoes!

You rush back upstairs, patting yourself down. Well, you have got your shirt, it's a nice Argentinian flag pattern. But socks! Shoes! Bag! Oh, and your phone! You pluck it from the charger and stuff it in your jeans pocket. Then you fish underneath the lower bunk until you find your shoes, seizing a pair of socks at random from your dresser. Purple socks. You don't even remember where you even got those, probably a gift from Sammy down the hall, but no time to grab another. Right. Shoes tied, grab your bag, gotta run. You'll probably be late now, but maybe if you run...

Bike? Oh, yes! You don't ride it much, but... oh crap, where are the keys? You check your desk drawers quickly. Nothing. Crap. The bike's locked up on the rack around the side door downstairs, but there's no time to look for the key. Guess you'll have to sprint there. You run down the stairs and out the door, out onto the footpath between all the dorm buildings. Strange things, laid out all environmentally to catch as much sun as possible in the colder months, like today... but no time to think on that.

You run past the neighboring dorms, out of the housing area and into the main campus. There don't seem to be many people out, but then again, there never are before your 7:50 class. You can hear the crows out and about though, as they always are in the morning. Around the curve of the main path, across the bridge, past the engineering hall. Almost there, just another couple buildings to go. There are a few more people active around here, you have heard engineering classes tend to be earlier in the morning, after all. But no time to think on that now. Almost to your building. Why, looks like there's already an agitator of some kind out, and so early in the morning! What's that booth for? Blood donation? Something medical. But no time to think on that now. You burst through the doors.

Here you are! Just a few feet of hallway to go! Oh, bloody hell, and four flights of stairs. But then you remember the elevator, take it, tapping your feet and wiping your brow on the way up, and finally you arrive at your classroom, sweating and breathing heavily. And... there's no one else here? Well, crap. You'd failed to factor in your running speed, it seems, and you must be at least 12 minutes early, if there's no one else waiting. At least you'll have time to rest up a bit before the professor arrives.

Had you seen anyone else in the hall on the way here? Had the class been moved elsewhere and you missed the notification? Well, in the first case, now that you think of it, no. Often times you'd see your classmates for this session in the halls, or occasionally the professor on the way to class as you entered, but, seeing as you must be a bit early today, not this time. You don't know if there are any other classes in this building so early in the morning, but it wouldn't surprise you if there weren't. Then again, you took the elevator today, so maybe you might have missed someone on the stairs? As you saw running here, there were a few people outside, though you don't think any of them were headed into this building. A handful of students, some of them going past on bikes, that black guy at whatever medical charity both that was outside, a couple professors (you think, maybe faculty?) walking by in winter wear.

As for the second case... damn, you'd have to check your computer about that. Oh well. Only thing to do in the meantime was wait. If no one shows up in ten minutes, you'll just head to the nearby computer lab and check to see what's up. Then you can excuse yourself for lateness once you find out where it's being held today. Who knows? Maybe it was canceled.

With that, you take your notebook out of your bag, and flip to the back, where the blank pages are. You suppose you could use the time to read, but you feel more like doodling. What to draw, though?
