A cult soon gets a burst of popularity due to the new telescope ancestor belief. The cult worships ancestors more, placing more importance on them than the gods. Just as planned.

But, once a significant group starts following this cult, the planets will start to have tremors, growing larger every passing day. Just as planned

Panic ensues among the populous. What is going on? Who is to blame? Are the ancestors angry? Chaos and confusion reigned. Just as planned.

The collision of the two planets was only delayed, not stopped. They are still doomed to collide one way, to the utter destruction of both. But neither could see this yet. Just as planned.

In the resulting chaos, a new government system rose up from the anarchy. A government that was not afraid to learn technological flight. Just as planned.

This development was partially spurred by the observation of burning cities on the other planet, causing question of beliefs. Why would the dead have wars?

Mechanical flight would arise eventually. But it would take millennia before anyone discovered a practical means of achieving it. For centuries, the development of science was slow, focused on more immediately practical things. Just as planned.

Due to a pact with Elder Gods, they develop long-range teleportation.  Any use of these techniques over the short range would result in a miniature black hole forming.  Just as planned.

However, the terror infused by this new government spurred a scientific revolution into the population. As soon as basic technology existed, the tremors suddenly ceased. Just as planned.

Suddenly. the large dimensional rift opens up again. This time, both create a world scythers AND classical era tech pincers are in it. Just as planned

Some of the tech included guns and the Scythers are quickly slaughtered and thrown back into the portal with zero casualties. Nobody ever talks about this event again.

The scythers and the pincers have a truce and plan to develop high tech stuff to be able to compete with an army. Just as planned.
