Karma's ability to continue a task for an extended amount of time is not particularly impressive. Including ignoring things.

Take the crystal.

The crystal is just around the corner to the left to Clair, as she finds when she strolls forward.

It's fairly large, needing both hands to pick it up. It is a giant purple gem, glowing purple in contrast to the sickly green flames of the labyrinth.

Apart from glowing and feeling warm to the touch, there's nothing else to it.
