"Unless I fell asleep again without noticing, I don't think so. Since I didn't really get into that fight, I just assumed I was having a strange lucid dream. Unless just being in that world mean it's awakened.

Wait. Do I want to know how they found out the effects of forcibly awakening it?"

"Hey, wait up! I think you could do with a partner. At least that way you can work on attack and defense. I'm Yoshida, by the way."
"Mine's Branson, though I believe you already know that."

Miss Aisaka's face suddenly grows harsher.
"Much shadier corporations than we have tried. The results....tended to create powerful, uncontrollable Personae that could rip their own wielder apart, and required suppressors which could kill their owner, due to the inherent issue of forcibly repressing a natural part of one's mind.

There is a reason we do not do that."

Maria nods.
"In effect, yeah, we're magic police, straight out of some crappy anime."

"A woman's word is her bond, right? Thus, so is her silence. By not saying anything while me and Tohru-chan where making plans right in front of you, you might as well have agreed to it. Three people in a library after school is a crowd, two is just awkward. You are really letting us down here..."

Nana shoots a look in Tohru's direction, one asking for mercy.

"I could've sworn I heard Nana say she was going home." Asada's voice is hard.  Thoroughly unamused.

If Karma has any talent at reading the atmosphere, he certainly wasn't using it. It appears he doesn't notice anyone's strange tone or glares.

"She simply forgot about her prior engagements with the library. I am sure someone as academically minded as her wouldn't forget a study appointment like that. It has been a stressful day, after all. A study session will be to her benefit, as well as our own."

"And the fact that we have all been nearly drafted into a paranormal paramilitary organization which specializes in the hunting of murderous myths and monsters is less important than your own schoolwork?  I'd suggest giving her room to acclimate."

"The Sub with a Sub made it pretty clear we are supposed to keep up our homework, right? If she didn't think it was important, she would just give us A's. Judging by her performance compared to yours in that fight, I think she knows a bit more about monster hunting then you. If she thinks it is Ok, why not? Besides, I am looking out for Nana-chan, too. After something as strange as this, doing something normal is better for your psyche then diving headlong into it. Do you want her to become obsessed with this stuff, doing nothing but fight until she becomes the very monster she was fighting against? Like I said, this is better for all of us."

Virgil storms over to Karma and picks him up by the front of his shirt.
"Look here boy, I don't like working with people that aren't professional. And trying to Shang-hai someone into somethin' ain't professional. So step off."
Virgil drops Karma.
