"You actually have a point there....it seems quite...suspicious...that so many people are dying from a game."

"Well, yeah, my dad, on top of his many other political flaws, potential embezzlement chief among them, was also the primary benefactor for the game's initial crowdfunding campaign.  He is thanked eight times throughout the games credits page and even has a cameo somewhere.  He's also the lead chairman of the investigative team with regards to the Millennium deaths..."

"I see, but still, I don't see why they'd hate you so much. You don't seem hateable at all..." Tohru frowns.

Even Miss Aisaka looks up at the mention of the Millennium deaths for a moment, before returning to her meal.

"You'd be surprised what growing up under him means to people who have lost someone.  They think I would do the same."

Nana, having finished her lunch, goes over to her locker to find something to do to keep her hands occupied. She comes back to the cafeteria with something indeed in her hands: she's idling toying with what appear to be some jacks, though she's playing with them flawlessly enough that it's a questionably fun activity.

"It's still not right to assume that about you. I know it probably isn't worth much, but I'm not going to let the fact it might be 'social suicide' stop me from talking to you!" Tohru declares, feeling rather defiant at that moment in time.

"It's a coping method people use. After all, if you can't find any other reason to blame, then someone who indirectly caused it is the next best thing."

"It's still not right to assume that about you. I know it probably isn't worth much, but I'm not going to let the fact it might be 'social suicide' stop me from talking to you!" Tohru declares, feeling rather defiant at that moment in time.

"So you'll be joining me in my coffin then... wonderful." Asada deadpans as she adjusts her glasses and checks to see that the flower is still in her hair.

"It's a coping method people use. After all, if you can't find any other reason to blame, then someone who indirectly caused it is the next best thing."

She nods, "Exactly. Of course this has been going on for years in this town, people upset over a judge ruling probable murderers as innocent, laws passing despite high public protest, police being inefficient, criminal organizations increasing in power.  It always somehow leads back to my father."

"Rather a coffin than abandoning someone who doesn't deserve any blame." Tohru's mood deflates and she bows her head back down, going back to eating her sandwich in silence.

The warning bell rings, signalling five minutes before the end of lunch.

Karma finally stops doing nothing. At the last minute, he returns to class and re-constructs his book fort. My first defense doesn't go down that easily! I don't know how that Sub got past Defense One and Defense two with no trouble, but we probably won't see her again the rest of the day, thus the rest of our lives...

Groaning yet again, Branson sleepily stands back up and picks up the relevant paraphernalia for his next class. His step is lighter than before, though not by much and the constant yawns don't exactly make him look any alerter than before.
