Asada sits as she always does.  Attentive, but not focused, up but not perfect.

A new teacher?  Strange but not unheard of.

"Huh? What's going on?"

Slouched lethargically upon his desk, Branson continues reading his textbook, more as a way to pass time rather than study (which is quite obvious by his academic performance). The change in teacher wasn't too much of a surprise, after all with the weather as horrible as it is, people were bound to be sick.

"Substitute teacher. Which is kind of weird but.... eh."
Virgil shrugs boredly.

Clair doesn't look up from her pencil drawing. Seem she rather engrossed in it. Currently it look like a figure of unknown gender sitting on a throne of some kind.

Rubbing his tired eyes, Branson quietly yawns as he slumps further onto the spread of dully familiar pages. Instinctively, he reaches down for his seemingly omnipresent bottle of iced coffee. His fingers close around empty space before resting there, hanging limply for a few moments before returning to the cramped comfort of his desk.

The teacher smiles at everyone, shutting the book she was reading, before standing up and writing her name on the board.

"Good morning to you all. My name is Ms. Aisaka.

I will be taking over from Mr. Ebihara as your homeroom teacher, as Mr. Ebihara has taken a post in another school across the city. I was called in to replace him permanently, contrary to any concerns you may have as to my status here.

I hope to get to know you as well as he may have, but I recognise you may not respect me as much as him."

She casually picks up a bit of chalk, with a sigh and flicks it with her finger towards Karma's book fort. The chalk seems to have hit it somewhere weak, as the hit knocks the books onto the floor, revealing him sleeping to the rest of the class. She sits back down, shutting her book again.

"And respect, if I recall, is a mutually given thing."

Nadeko sits at her desk paying enough attention to not get noticed.

Well, better than some under qualified sub at least.
Branson nods curtly as he sits back up. Hesitating for a moment, he raises a hand, keeping the other in his pocket, clutched around the peculiar card.

Miss Aisaka turns towards him.
"Yes? And, please, tell me your name so I know who you are. I apologise- I was called in on short notice so I did not have time to learn all of your faces from the register."

Yoshida's eyes widen in shock and fear over the potential damage caused to his beloved comic by the chalk missile.

He's impressed Ms. Aisaka knew Karma was sleeping, much less so with the way she dealt with him.

If it makes him feel any better, the chalk seems to have landed on the floor, as the books fell outwards.

More damage is likely from someone sleeping on said comic. :P

Ever the heavy sleeper, Karma continues undeterred, sleeping just as soundly has before. Bookfort or no bookfort, rain or shine, exposed to the class or alone, he will continue his nap! A slight smile takes his face. He may or may not be drooling on the comic.

"I don't like this new teacher already..." he openly says out loud with a groan.
