I can put my characters into the second/empty garrison, but only by clicking the garrison in the list of garrisons, it doesn't register by the normal means.

Did they just change the name or is this an entirely new game?

I remember playing when the B12 group was especially powerful. Then things stagnated and everyone ragequit. How's the game and community these days?

They changed the name. A similar situation has occurred, although we own a large portion of the map.

It's not really a ragequit situation though, people just drifted off after we got set up. Maybe it's a thing about having something to work for, because when we had no kingdom people were all playing asking when the kingdom would be set up, but once a kingdom existed people seemed to lose interest real quick.

For me it's almost entirely that I ran out of holiday at almost exactly that time. That, and I started getting fed up with the interface. I have a slow internet connection.

Yeah it is slow. Which is why I'm mainly just incubating garrisons now and log in to maintain stuff only. Haven't done a dungeon quest in a long time.

BTW, a new kingdom just started, right in the middle of our enemy Red's territory. It's definitely helpful to us. This may seem suicidal on that player's behalf, but as far as I can see it, if the player had built outside the Red area, then they would have been encroaching on both our territory as well as a red's, so (s)he has decided to risk only pissing off one single other nation.

The last 6 words explains why I haven't been able to play anything online. or do much despite the general net connection here. :(

Well, I added a new feature to the online map, now there's a bunch of colored flags that you can place on the map to keep track of things you're working on, other other notes. I place them next to cities or garrisons to remind me that I have to do something there. I was using the small red tents for the purposes, but decided an actual symbol for that would be better. It turned out to be easier to implemented than I feared, which made me happy, I stuck them into the drop down options for garrisons, and renamed that as just "location" (dungeons are still in their own section since you can build castles on top of dungeons). You can stick a party name into the flag if you want to tell who placed that note.

Was that all that changed?  I had a start when I refreshed the map.  All the towns are now in white circles bordered in grey instead of the color of the kingdom that owns them. Wasn't what I was expecting to see. :)

BTW - Godlike blacksmith at 37,1

~~~
Ah I was just in the middle of testing out a new addition, I just started with putting the character-location code on top of cities, and tweaked from there (the parties have a little white circle in their icon to make them more visible). The white circle looked neat on the cities, but hides the kingdom color, so it had to go :(
Right now, it's completed for now. It now looks up the mayor's party colors and puts a colored circle around the city. This way, cities are more visible on the map, and you can tell at a glance who was mayor last time that city was updated.
I'm also starting on a thing that automatically records the coach routes and puts them on the map as you travel around. This is a once-off thing so I'm calling it version 1.05a. As usual this is the link. It doesn't really do any new useful think except log the coach routes for each city you visit, and that code will be removed once they're all logged. One other thing this update does is it reports how many shops have returned their materials data, i noticed some were not reporting the right amounts. This will help narrow down any issues and let you know if the program might not be getting data for all the shops.
http://jgame.net.au/kingdoms/crownofconquest.user.js
Next up will be logging stuff from the shops onto the server. First, will be logging the materials for sale to the server (most of the infrastructure for that is already there).
Then, the next phase will be logging the entire contents of each shop :D So rather than guessing whether there are indestructible items for sale or slogging through a whole page of magical items for sale hoping there's one good one in there, this will be logged somehow and either give you a summary (e.g. find just the indestructible items and report those).
I wasn't going to, but I ended up updating the script again, so that now, it uploads the resource data for all city shops. There were some bugs related to getting all the shop data correctly, but I fixed those so it's good to upload the data now. That should make it easier to keep track of building materials when you need them. The materials and coach info will now appears in the city tooltips on the map.
Also, I sped up the timing of sending the position data, but got it to only send when you've moved, rather than just sending an update every 15 seconds. So your position on the map should be much more responsive.
Bump, since the script is update. Added reading of the trade-hall sales - just the player-player trades.
There's an array of strings at the top called "item_keyword". You can add or remove things from that to tell it what to look for. Right now it looks for anything with "Enchantment" or "Indestructible". So it will tell list all enchanted items from the trade hall list. To make it only tell you about "Indestructible" items, delete or comment out the line about "Enchantment". You can add an arbitrary number of terms in here to make it tell you if other types of items are being sold (this can include types of enchantment or just names of items).
I haven't implemented anything like this for the normal shops yet. The trade-hall turned out to be much simpler to handle.
I put most of my ideas at the start of this topic in the first few posts.
Oh, and definitely get onto the map thing I made. It's hella useful for navigating and keeping track of stuff - especially if you use the plug-in I made. The map etc work best with Firefox. I couldn't make it look so good on Chrome because of how Chrome scales the images. I'll PM you a link.
One cool idea is to start with a few archers, then sell their useless ammo. It's pretty valuable. Then, gear everyone up with chainmail + short swords from the start, and you should be able to buy more guys. Keep the archers as sword slingers for a few levels until you can afford longbows or crossbows. If you haven't spent many turns on the game so far, then it might be worth a restart after you work out the optimal setup: 2 priests, the rest a mix of archers and warriors. Recommend you don't get a mage for now.
For leveling up, generally focus on just raising your characters main class stat. Raise a little bit of Con at the start. It increases wilderness movement rate, and carrying capacity (so does Str, but I think Con gives a little more). Con also raises HP gain, but the amount it affects is almost useless.
For your priests, the two spells you want to focus on are healing, and portals, but only go for portals once you're about level 5 and hitting dungeons in the wilderness. Gradually build up to 2-3 portals in your party. For the first few levels, priests on 100% healing spells, and stick to dungeon delving in sewers, and make use of the town healer because you won't have much in the way of healing spells.
For skills, just keep raising Beserker Rage for the warriors / archers. I put points into awareness and tactics for the priests (put one on tactics, and the other on awareness, then swap when they max out each skill).
"The Kingdom of Staberinde has fallen. We are now free citizens."
Wow, I haven't logged into this game in a long time.
"Gotrek The Slayer, King of Staberinde offers you a quest: Claim 50 sectors of Land for the Kingdom of Staberinde . Go to your Quest List to accept or decline the quest."
Sorry, Urist Rumbeard. Sucks that they threw you out onto the streets and left you to die. I'll drink a keg of ale in your memory, friend.
