According to the map Waspnesse may already be taken. I am too far to check, though

Waspnesse is only green because of the castle change. Wait 20 minutes then look again. It's sort of feels like a strategically important location to hold though. It was blue a minute ago until skr got the castle. I'm assuming it changed color because of the castle, but I guess it's possible that he took it directly.

Hmm, I will look once I finish leveling up my archer (2300 xp to get her to lvl 20).

Also, does somebody know why my castle at 95, 42 is not claiming land in a 5x5 radius? I ceded it to the kingdom...

Ok 81,60 fixed, I forgot to "cede" it after recapture, and was down the bottom of the map.

@Tomcost: idk, it looks ok. Also there's a castle @ 99,46. If someone wants to check what the deal is with that one go for it. Only take it over if you have enough guys to man it though.

That's just a guy who hangs around that place. His party (a neutral one) was in Stavewilds when I built the castle.

Ok then. Well, one thing we could try doing is land claims in the area the castle should be holding. That could be a bug so it's worth a shot. Another thing would be to reclaim and then cede the castle again, after making sure your garrison is set to Claim Land. Those are worth a shot too.

I will try when I get enough turns. Right now, I've cleared the dungeon at 73,20, and I'm just waiting for monsters to respawn. Also, for my turns to replenish.

So, did you want Waspnesse finally? If it has those 21 elite guards, I'm sure I won't be able to overcome them. Anyway, I will say when I'm ready and need help.

Oh ok, well I'll clear out Waspnesse sometime on a day that you're ready to go. I can take them out.

If you have a mage, you can stock up on lots of entangle scrolls and give all your guys scrolls.  The first round of battle, you entangle every elite guard.  I was able to take a town with 20+ elites at party level 15 this way.

Once I tried to cast entangle on an elite guard. It resisted it and one-shot my main tank. I was level 13 or so, though

It's a nice idea, and with 8 entangles in round 1 it might be effective. I wrote it up in the 2nd OP post with a thanks note to Zazmio.

I've never once seen entangle get resisted.  I've only ever noticed damage spells like flame or poison shot be resisted.

It's pretty effective, but it's still very hard killing elites when you're only level 15.  Sometimes, the entangles would wear off before I was able to kill them all.  The mayor was an archer with a very high agility and my guys couldn't hit him until I cast confuse on him.  I ended up losing 3 guys; the rest had low health and I was out of spells.

Oh well. Don't forget guys I'm available for softening up guards, and also for upgrading towers. Upgraded a fort -> castle just now for Pastry Pirates @ 87,51. Please stick'em at those blue tent areas, so we can get the most coverage with minimal castles.

If you want to place new blue ones, try and place in a grid every 9 x 9 tiles, but make it closer if there's a city in the way. then set the party name to "x" which is what triggers them to appear as blue. these just serve as a guide though. we can have extra castles if people have enough troops to man them. plz no empty castles since they'll just get taken over, and always put a full 8 guys in there (armor them up as much as possible, good shields + helm are important since these never decay), - i've had groups of 6 x level 7 garrisons dislodged before.
