The Charging Boars are ready for glory. Or they probably would be, if I hadn't started in a frozen backwater called Carnglade.

Gentlemen, we have a problem. The Big Red is trying to take towns from us. It has already expanded near to my lonely town in the NE corner of the map, and also took Rothaven, which was ours due to a NPC mayor.

Good point about ceding castles, I went around and did that with mine, which has bumped us up a lot with land control. Thanks, that was a point I'd missed, so I updated the OP with the information. It's important that people do this to grow the land claim areas.

We now have a land area in excess of Cardolan, and our Majesty is only 2 points shy of Cardolan's too. I'm sure this will bump over the line very soon. 20 cities fall under our domains, plus at least 1 more from a bay12er who is yet to pledge alleigence.

As for the green forts, they'd be safe to leave alone if it was just Green, but the biggest risk is that Stormtroopers takes them over and sticks Red garrisons in there. That might become more of a realistic threat if Red views us as a threat. It's probably a good idea to grab them, since Skr won't actually retaliate. He barely has enough guys to man the 3 fortresses around his home city. Also, we've removed his sole reason for extending to the South now, so he should lose interest in that direction. He is back down to 1 controlled city because his empty castles are no longer claiming any cities.

So, if you can commit to manning one of those empty green fortresses go and grab one, but declare in the thread here that you're doing so.

I'm gradually building up some more castles, but it takes time to level rookie garrisons up enough that I can move my party onto the next one. It's the easiest way to grab more cities though. I'm going to fill in that gap in the South with blue, over the next couple of weeks.

Bump: with interesting info. I managed to build up Arx's tower to a castle, which confirms that I can upgrade people's buildings, and possible even drop a whole castle on top of a regular garrison. EDIT: upgraded 3 towers/forts to castles for other players.

Now, there are only 3 gaps in the South area where there are blue fortress locations marked out. The plan would be to fill those 3 out, and 1 row to the north of our main area, then work on northern expansion.

So can my level 3 party man those and gain XP while the days pass by?

EDIT: Also what is that bar that I can move around that separates my party's characters?  I'm guessing its to denote who's in the front and who's in the back?  If so, which is the front?

Above the bar is the frontline. Below is the backline.

Hm, have you considered murder?  It's either that or letting it go.

I'm in as a level 3 party.

The Northern Lords!

Does clearing sewers actually help us out in any way?

Clearing sewers is only for getting some XP and money at low levels, use the money to buy good armor, shields and helms.

Reelya, I have to ask: how much money does the Kingdom bring?

Also, is there any possibilities of having Skr join us? He would be a nice addition, at least to man some forts.

Rothaven was still NPC when I checked earlier. It must just be a random switch. That area has been passing so many hands over the last couple of months they probably have mixed allegiance and cant make their mind up which Lord to bow to yet...

It brings a few thousand a day. I haven't used any yet, but I think the best use for that is so that I can build castles on top of other people's garrisons, since I checked that this works.

If anyone wants to stick a garrison at one of those SE blue points, I'll build a castle over the top of your guys. For them to survive self-sufficiently you need 6-8 guys with average levels 4-6+, and pile on good armor/helm/shield. You should recruit spare characters for this so that the castle is unmanned when you're adventuring.

Skr isn't manning his own forts he already has. There's no reason to think this would be better with him on the Bay12 team. I don't think he'll agree to join anyway, I'm sure he's very attached to his current kingdom.

I'll post whatever you guys can come up with. Maybe brainstorm something.

Currently I'm busy digging my own metaphorical grave in the form of an exam I'll most likely fail, I might contribute with some brainstorming once I'm done with that.

I can man the garrison at 85, 83, but I have a problem: my guys are already at Jewel Cities (98,6) protecting that place and I can only have one city currently.

Maybe I can replace my current city by Rothaven (85,80), but I can't take over it by myself. If you don't mind losing a 6 prosperity town in the NE corner of the map, I could take care of the Rothaven zone (I already have a manned garrison nearby).
