"Attack and blow everything up" is pretty much what I'm thinking.  First send him a message demanding he reciprocate our peace overture, and also he must bow down and kiss your bejewelled dwarven toes and accept dwarven hegemony.  No doubt he will tell you to go fuck yourself; then we get as many players as we can and start raiding his towns' treasuries and destroying garrisons all at once.

I can see how you won't like that idea if you're very attached to your towns and castles.  Me, I'm not so much; the thought of sitting around for three months building up with no action sounds very tedious.  However, if that's how you want to play the game, there's nothing wrong with that, and I won't cause any trouble for the Bay 12 kingdom as long as I'm a part of it.

ATM there is no need to pick a fight with Staberinde when Blessith seems to be drawing a line in the sand and daring us to cross it.

If we can quickly get castles @ 70,5 and 78,5 then we can get a blue strip through from the east behind Blessith. I'll work on that when I have more turns. Then, two castles @ 88,16 and 97,14 join up all the stuff from north to south.

We should probably work quickly to prevent being boxed in and having a non-connected island of cities.

Slate Port 60,9 has all 4 material types available. Not many northern cities have mats since they're all very low on prosperity or they have exorbitant entrance taxes.

~~~
EDIT: Ok, I built a strip of castles along the north. To put pressure on the new guy and ensure we can't really get blocked in there too much. I think we shouldn't build castles any further west than we already have. I'm thinking that we leave the northwest as a no-mans land in terms of castles, but take over individual cities there. Too easy for Staberinde to take over our castles.
I've built a castle at 88,16.  Getting the garrison mostly set up (still need 1 more)  has me broke again.  I'll do the 97,14 location (unless someone else gets there first) after my next dungeon crawl.  I'll bother doing barracks there later
As an aside: is it just me, or are warriors sorta rare in recruitment offices?  I find plenty of archers, priests and wizards, but never seem to see warriors.
Edit: despite proofing this post 3 times, after hitting the save button I noticed I left out a word in once sentence.  Just like every other time I make a post. :)
We might want to think about think about making Blessith into an ally, instead of aggressively boxing him in and probably making him into an ally of Staberinde.
We didn't have much choice since Blessith tried to box us in, so we would have zero places to expand. If you didn't notice, Blessith was building a wall of castles right along our claimed area. If we hadn't grabbed what we did, then we would already have zero space to expand without building right next to Staberinde.
Also, if you didn't realize, Staberinde isn't coming right up to our territory and trying to wall us off, but Blessith is.
I'm just making conversation here.  Just trying to see how Blessith might see things.
He just created this kingdom.  He probably saw all the empty space in the north and figured he'd paint it all his color, not realizing we had plans of expanding there.  Then, out of nowhere, there is lots of blue surrounding him.
I can just see how this kind of thing might make small independent kingdoms hostile towards Slaves to Armok.  Just the kind of thing that might make them side with the big power that treated them less badly, when it comes time for the great war.
I'm guilty too, by the way.  I just took Unholytower, which is to Blessith's west.  Soon that will turn blue.  I just thought it had a cool name; then I looked at the map and realized what this looks like.
he started by placing a wall specifically along our frontier. that quite clearly states that he was walling us in. so he was quite aware that we were intending to expand in that direction.
We shouldn't worry about pissing off one-person countries by expanding. If we do that, then we keep ourselves small permanently for little gain. One of my goals is that we have more Blue than Staberinde's Red. Blessith being in the way really throws a spanner in the works as that area was to be the heart of our Northern expansion. It will be much harder to pur pressure on Staberinde now, as that whole area will be filled with empty castles now belonging to one player.
the problem with a great war idea now is that each of us can maybe wipe out 1-2 Starberinde castles per day, and Staberinde would be able to rebuild those and wipe ours out just as quick. We'd have to constantly use up 1000's of turns a day, and keep that up for a couple of months to even make a dent. Plus, we'd have to throw in constant dungeon delving to pay for inevitable character deaths and stuff. I for one just don't have time to keep that sort of thing up.
We only have 2-3 active people even now.
It's good that your took unholytower. We need to grab cities in that region. The stuff in our hinterland will mostly take care of itself (NPC mayors).
Update: I went and conquered Haze Fort in the west. It just happens to have a God-Like blacksmith. We still have the one @ Ashford to use, so I've decided to up the taxes at Haze Fort to hit any foreign players that might want to use it.
I've been really busy. I'm trying to get online once in a while to maintain my garrisons and send tribute, though.
I just started playing this morning.
I'm still faffing about in a sewer, trying to work out how to play, but hopefully at some point I'll be able to help out. :)
Read the second and third posts in the thread for some tips.
EDIT: Thought I'd just give some feedback on the kingdom compared to the previous Bay12 kingdom. The previous kingdom was Mountainhome and existed for 82 days, from day 1111 until day 1193. They reached a total land area of 2267, 35 towns and had a peak of 34 players.
The current kingdom has existed for 37 days, and we have exceeded the land area of the old kingdom, with 2300 land. We currently have 26 towns and 21 players registered. So, the immediate goals would be to exceed 35 towns and last at least as long as Mountainhome.
Huzzah! I made it to Unholytower!
We suffered grievous casualties along the way (well, one guy died and we resurrected him on our arrival), but my mangy little band has finally reached the Kingdom of The Slaves To Armok! And I was greeted by a damn fine steel helmet and a full set of plate. Yes, I like this place already.
Druiddrite is now part of Staberinde.  Was there a rebellion there or something?
According to the town news, the peasants kicked out the mayor.
There's a god-like at Waxyard.
