I guess that's up to Elf. Depends on how he wants to get rid of Branson. If he just suddenly has to be hospitalized for a heart attack or something, it could be immediate.

Easiest would probably either be heart attack or saying he only showed up today to tell everyone that an unforeseen circumstance is forcing him to transfer immediately.

Or that he's actually a collective hallucination, hence why Karma was no longer capable of noticing him :P

More seriously, we could just do what happened when Usec dropped or what we are doing with PrivateNomad's character (You know, we could probably remove him instead of Branson anyway :-\), just never mention them again and pretend they never existed.
