People have female and masculine parts of their personality, it could be a simple as what the persona represents coraletes to something like that?

That is to say if a persona is another gender it doesn't mean that it's the persons true gender, just that it is the femininity/masculinity of what that person desires.

Well gender is a psychological construct, and is fluid.

A Persona's gender might just be a repressed part of the mind which displays more of one gender than another. Indeed it may be that the "host" mind is repressing the opposite gender traits they identify with which comes out in the persona.

However even then the parts of the persona tat could be recognised as gender cold just be a side effect of what's being repressed, it doesn't necessarily have to be the most important part of it but it does exist, if the persona is highly sexualized then it most likely would be referring to gender, but for example, my persona is male, but that isn't what's important about it.
