I have been thinking about playing, though I don't have a lot of knowlage on the source material. I think I played a Shin Megami Tensei game a long time ago, and don't remember much of it. Would this game still be enjoyable/at least workable if I have no clue what is going on? I might do a quick TV tropes binge of it, though if you need a real knowlage of the game that won't help much  .

I'll probably have it in after lunch and research while my laptop is recharging. For now, are guns ok for weapons? Your npc has a musket, so I am wondering. Failing that, what about illegally modified air guns?

Guns are allowed, but try to keep them either vintage (elephant guns, muskets, etc) or plausibly civilian (revolver, yes, but no assault rifles or, God forbid, a sniper rifle).

Give me some credit! The initial character design used handguns, which evolved into Saturday night specials. Revolvers are perfect. Persona don't have to be humanoid, right?

You do realise you're supposed to wait for skills to be given to you, right? Also, I don't advise taking Fire and Wind affinities as if an enemy resists or nulls those, you're all fucked, given that the vast majority of the group seems to have taken Agi and Garu skills.

It's alright.

Better choice, although I really don't recommend taking Fire as the vast majority of the group seems to have at least one fire attack, and if the boss nulls, resists, reflects or even absorbs it, you're screwed.

I took ice solely because no one had that. (dark because my persona is Hel. Can't have the princess of the underworld and not have dark...)
