This is true for basically anything

Naw, sometimes a game doesn't really support your play style and sometimes a game either makes the optimal strategy too great or the suboptimal strategy really dreadful.

Trying to horse your desired play style through a game that doesn't support it can be unfun.

I meant in Monster Hunter, sorry. To the best of my knowledge there has never been a weapon so bad in the series that it was completely impossible or completely unfun to play with that weapon.

Even underwater SnS in Tri was doable, although obviously not the best option.

Okay, color me a moron, you guys were totally right.

Gore Magala Weapons have the Dragon Element. I just took a mission where the Zamtrios I fought was allready infected from the get go.

If stupid was an element, I could run for a spot as an elder dragon.  :-[

Don't worry about it, we've all done dumb things by accident. I found out that guarding and hitting X with the great sword makes you kick... while I was looking at a sleeping Tetsucabra. On the bright side, you now know that. If you didn't open your mouth, you would have still thought that for some time longer.

Yeah. I'm also very glad that I now know that, because the Gore Magala weapons look really, really cool. And they all also have german names, which is cool as well.

One thing tough, has anyone figured out a good way to cut off Gore Magala's tail? I find it incredibly hard because that thing jumps around like it's on speed or something.

I'm allready in high rank, but I really want to get the Gore Magala Charge Blade. I mean, look at this thing:

Probably the most metal weapon ever. Right after the Zinogre Hunting horn.

I believe you just summed up carving in every Monster Hunter game. Except most of the time it's more like, "Oh good, more scales and webbing to add to the pile. Any plates or rubies? No...? Sigh."

The problem here is that the frills are supposed to be the more common drop from breaking the head.

I do find it interesting that Monster Hunter follows game logic but against real life logic...

In that breaking apart the creature improves the drops.

Rather then in real life where it in fact ruins it.

The rule of fun. Smashing everything is (for most people) more satisfying than being forced into using precision.
It's like the difference between ripping open a Christmas present like a primitive ape-man and carefully removing the tape.

Oh there's a G-Rank alright, and currently Dalamadur is sitting right in between me and it :(

That thing is nasty.

Edit: And we just killed him 5-6 times to get even once we figured him out.

hitting G-rank is weird went straight from Hr7 to Hr33 *shrug*
