Is this confirmed?  Do we finally have non-useless stonefall traps? :o

As I recall, from Urist da Vinci's very informative threads in the modding subforum, weapon traps hit three times (per weapon, I think).  It's not too surprising that stone fall traps share the same mechanics.

I think the cases where the attack seems to happen more than three times are instances of the same attack hitting multiple body parts (i.e. both upper and lower arms) but being recorded as separate attacks, but I might be misremembering attack mechanics.  It's a bit convoluted ad counterintuitive and may have changed since I last read research on the topic.

Nonetheless, stonefall traps not being useless is good news (though cage traps are almost as cheap to produce and much more effective).  They used to suffer from a bug, I don't recall the details, that made them much less deadly than you might expect.  If that has been fixed, then that can only be a good thing.

I like to imagine that the boulders bounce back like rubber from anything except the enemies.

off topic, but that gif made me realize something.... Indiana Jones is an idiot. He could have avoided the boulder completely, and not needed to run from it, if he had just dropped to the ground and let it go over top of him.

He probably didn't have time to react. Like your dorfs dodging into magma.

... and be stuck inside the cave forever when the boulder plugs the exit.

(admittedly, your reaction was my first reaction too to seeing the gif)
