You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

Whoops, forgot to state one more thing:

Every half an hour, you get one more stat point to allocate.

Yep. Also note that 0 in a stat is autofail.

No key? Are you sure?

You look around the room. It's not as bare as you have previously thought. In fact, there is a shelf full of some sort of doodads, and a- Oh god, what is that!?!

You ignore their cry for help as you go about searching for a key. You will have to help yourself first before you can help anyone.

1) Search the shelf (1 minute)

There had to be something useful in it...

2) Key be damned, let's just smash the door down. (5 minutes)

The thing in the corner is making you nervous. You found a hammer in the shelf. Maybe you should just hit the lock until it breaks.

3) There we go!

You found the key. Let's get out of here.

4) Okay, fine, what do you want?

The Thing in the Corner points its... appendage at the vial in your hand.

[Need at least 7 Paranoia and Vial of Vile Liquid first!]

How about 6 to paranoia, 4 to imprudence, and 5 to connivance? We might just have to bash a door down sometime.

Also, 1) Search the shelf.

Yeah, balance sounds good, with a light specialization towards the medium stat. +1

thing is, there are 2 types of games, one were getting a balanced stat pool is your best chance of success since it gives the most options (eg. castle crashers), and ones were specialization is very important or else you'll die horribly(eg. dungeon crawl stone soup, dark souls)

I have no idea what type this game is

Well, our stats won't matter once if we get Geno Whirl.
So, there.

Specialisation is a risky strategy here. The idea is that each stats are good and bad in certain situations. You might not want to use Imprudence much when you're dying, for example.

Also, I forgot to include the write-in earlier, but let it be known that in all actions you can submit custom actions and I will see if it's suitable.

Paranoia: 1 + 6 = 7
Imprudence: 0 + 4 = 4
Connivance: 0 + 5 = 5

1) Search the shelf

There had to be something useful in it...

Paranoia 1: (80% Success)

90: Failed!

You search through the shelf. It is filled with trays full of iron filings. You empty a tray into the floor. Sifting through the iron filings, you find that...

The bloody tray was just iron filings.

2) Key be damned, let's just smash the door down. (5 minutes)

The thing in the corner is making you nervous. You found a hammer in the shelf. Maybe you should just hit the lock until it breaks.

[Need Hammer first!] Imprudence 1: (88% Success)

You found the key. Let's get out of here.

[Need the Key to the Cell first!] (100% Success)

The Thing in the Corner points its... appendage at the vial in your hand.

[Need at least 7 Paranoia and Vial of Vile Liquid first!] Paranoia 7: (67% Success)

5) Write-In

You have a better idea...
