Most life support things tie into, say, the modular habitation thing and allow the whole thing to run by itself, so that wouldent really be needed.

Also, I already suggested karbonite. Personally, I think its far better than kethane.

Karbonite is better than Kethane. Make sure to get Baha's launchpad for it.

CKAN and Karbonite appear to be the mods that are going to be used.

Building functional colonies?

Across all planets, including Kerbal itself via planes and for tests of rockets landing on other planets.

Well, with colonies everywhere, I suggest getting MKS/OKS, and TAC life support to go with it, since it can become self-sufficient for that.

Also, KAS goes well with it. And I like KAS.

I also suggest we get the adjustable landing gear mod, because it A) looks good and B) makes up for the silly stock ones.

TAC is all sorts of headaches as has been stated. It takes awhile to unlock self sufficiency.

I prefer career...helps make a proper progression instead of people shooting off to the farthest flung edges of the galaxy in giant contraptions. Not all of us are that familiar or good at the more challenging things.

Life support would demand that other players fulfill missions for others, and while cooperation is ideal, I wouldn't want someone to spend all three of their launches trying to bring life support up to some other player's station.

I recommend Kethane or Karbonite, but not life support.

Ah, good to know about the science, as for the whole resupply thing, thats simple: No long-term crewed missions without either supplies sufficient to last the mission, a way to resupply, or the next player willing beforehand to bring up supplies.

Also, I would prefer having full-on career, with the money and all.

Two reasons for why this won't happen.  First, the contracts do not fit the setting established in the OP, as the only Kerbals with civilized knowledge are at the facility.  Second, using Science lowers the barrier of entry for players.
