You also didn't get any work done, so the assignment is late. It's just enough to push you below the required minimum GPA so you have to drop out. You end up getting a job as a street cleaner because that's all you're qualified for. One miserable night you find the soggy remains of the puppy from years before. You find yourself sitting in your one-room apartment at the cold linoleum breakfast table, in your undershirt, a bare bulb swinging overhead. On the table are stacks of red overdue bills and empty MD 20-20 bottles. What have you done. What have you done.
