How far up can I go? I'll go there, and step into the room on the left (hopefully a new card). If I instead end up on my original level, I'd like to go into the room north of the upper landing.

Peradon enters the foul room that is the Pentagram Chamber.



He hears a sobbing noise from a dank corner. As he turns his attention to it, he spots a cage with a little Girl inside. (Shit just got grimdark, yo).



Because he's not a total dick, Peradon opens the cage and lets her out. He attempts, partly successfully, to calm her down, and this empathic mindset actually increases his Sanity and Knowledge to 4.
Now he can call the cops and get her home to her family and be a hero and sod it, none of that's ever gonna happen. Bring the haunt roll.

Helgo doesn't lose the effect until his next turn, but since you're most likely going to end your turn right next to his room, that won't be an issue. He just doesn't get to reveal any new rooms is all.
