Well, over in the IRC, people started talking about Betrayal At House on The Hill[sic], and people were like "man, I wish I could play this with you guys", and I was like, "hey, maybe I can make it into a forum game" and here I am.

Oh. Well, Betrayal At House on The Hill is a board game re-enactment of every horror movie premise ever. You play as a ragtag bunch of protagonists exploring an abandoned mansion.
But then, the house gets haunted, and one of the players becomes a villainous traitor. The traitor then has to accomplish some goal, depending on which on the 50 scenarios has been triggered, and the other players have to stop them from doing that while hopefully managing to stay alive.

Spoiler: Your character (click to show/hide)

You get to pick one out of six character archetypes: a jock, a middle-aged gentleman, a young girl or boy, a mystic lady, or that one girl who survives until the end and has to confront the slasher on her own.
They all have the same stats: Speed, Might, Sanity, and Knowledge. They all have different starting stats and stat growths, but one thing is the same across all characters: if a stat drops below the lowest level, you die. So, uh, don't let that happen. On the bright side, it's literally impossible to have your stats drop below the minimum before the haunt starts, so you're effectively immortal until then.

Speed: Your reactions and movement range.
Might: Your strength, influences most combat damage.
Sanity: Your force of will.
Knowledge: Your... knowledge.

Often, you have to make a roll that depends on a stat. In those cases, roll as many dice as your stat's value, and add the results. The dice are weird d6s that only result in the numbers 0, 1, and 2. 1d3-1, if you will.
Example: You're told to make a Might Check, and your Might is 4. You roll 4 dice. This is equivalent to 4d3-4 if you want to get crunchy.

The house starts off with only 3 rooms discovered: the Entrance Hall, Foyer, and Grand Staircase. While exploring the house, you can uncover new rooms.
Whenever you do so, you pick a room tile (or rather, I will do that for you), and place it at its new location. The new room must be placed in such a way that the doorway you came through is connected to a door in the new room, and optimally the same holds for all other doorways leading into the new room.
Some rooms have special icons on them. If you reveal such a room, you draw a corresponding card (again, I will do that), and do as it says. Your movement also ends for that round if that happens.

Special cards:
Events are denoted by a spiral. You draw the card, act on its effects, and discard it unless told otherwise.
Items are marked with a bull's head. You get to keep this item and use it in any of your turns, unless it says otherwise.
Omens, possibly the most important cards, are heralded by the raven. You get to keep this card, do what it tells you to, and then have to do a haunt roll at the end of your turn (more on that later). Some effects will also place tokens on the board. The effects of these tokens are varied and usually detailed when they are placed.

Spoiler: Your turn (click to show/hide)

You can do any of the following on your turn:
Move to an adjacent room. You can do this as many times as you have Speed, or until you're made to draw a card by a revealed room. Moving out of a room with enemies in it uses up an extra move for each enemy in the room.
Discover a new room. Leaving a room through a doorway with no room on the other side will reveal a room as described in the previous spoiler. (There's a bit more to it, depending on which floor of the house you're on right now, but I'm handling that so don't worry).
Use a card. Once per turn, you can use one of your item or omen cards, give an item to an explorer who shares the room with you, or drop an item into the room. Any of these might not be possible for any given card.
Do a die roll. Attempt a roll as described two spoilers above. Some rolls don't depend on a stat, though, in which case you're told the exact number of dice to roll.
Make an attack. Once the haunt has started, you can attempt to attack an enemy. Usually, this means making an opposed dice roll using your Might. Whoever rolls lower takes damage to the relevant stat equals to the difference of the results. If you deal at least 2 points of damage, you may decide to instead steal an item from your oponent.
Make a haunt roll. If you have drawn an omen, you have to roll 6 dice (6d3-6). If the result is lower than the total amount of drawn omens, the haunt is triggered. No haunt rolls have to be made after the haunt has been triggered.

I'll be taking up to 6 players per game because that's kinda how the game was designed. Because the entire  thing is turn-based, you can opt to have me do fiddly little things like dice rolls and whatever other stuff that wastes time but doesn't actually require any player input.
