IC reason: nepotism is definitely to blame for Sean's promotion to Corporal over everybody else with more experience. It's also hinted at in his background that he was going to join some kind of elite unit before getting forced to pilot giant robots. So I'd assume that he's not entirely incompetent.

OOC reason: I offered Smurf the position before Digital Hellhound submitted his character sheet, so taking it away from Smurf didn't seem fair. Especially when we worked out some stuff with it.

The 25th is... basically an independent squadron with some infantry attached to them for protection. Obviously I haven't thought too much about how everything is organized.

Errr... What makes you think that we're in the southern hemisphere? Did I goof up somewhere? Because we're in the northern hemisphere here.

I'll introduce them after the next mission. That way I'll have the time/energy to come up with something half-decent as opposed to if I introduced them right now.

Description: The Qalupalik is a light mech favoured by the forces of Edon for its speed and significant firepower on a small frame. While not as sturdy or armoured as the average line mech, it is cheaper yet can mount the same weapons. Additionally its lack of armour is largely compensated by its manoeuvrability, enabling the Qalupalik to avoid shots that could cripple larger robots. Generally it is used as a rapid response mech by the Edo military, to either fend off enemy attacks or exploit holes or weak positions in the enemy line. In this role it performs admirably, though it lacks the stamina for a prolonged battle.

Most Qalupalik mechs are equiped with 'Mace' Missile Batteries for mech on mech combat, though a few have 60mm Repeater Cannons instead for engaging smaller targets.

Description: The Stronsay is a typical line mech, being tough but not heavily armed. This allows it to endure through long fights while still being affordable to produce. Thus it is generally supported with portable artillery or heavier mechs, to provide needed offensive power while the Stronsay protects weaker teammates. However it is perfectly capable of operating by itself if needed to. The Stronsay carries an arm-mounted weapon and a heavy mount on its roof into battle, though most of its pilots rarely use them as they prefer to wade into melee at the earliest opportunity.

Stronsay mechs are almost always equipped with 60mm Repeater Cannons on its arm. Generally its roof mount is taken up by a 100mm Cannon to compensate for the mech's low top speed, though against tough targets a 'Lance' battery may be equipped instead.

Description: With Edo forces deployed away from their homeland when Terralba launched its attack, the army scrounged up as many units as it could to slow down the invasion until they could recall enough forces to set up a proper defence. To compensate for their lack of mechs, a mobile force of towed cannons were set-up to provide fire support whenever needed. Obviously a truck cannot stand toe-to-toe with even the smallest of mechs, but they prove a useful stopgap for Edon at the moment. The lighter trucks haul 60mm cannons, and like all fixed defences enjoy better targeting equipment than the average mech.

The 60mm Cannon that the truck hauls cannot fire on the move, meaning that it's identical to the mech-mounted version except for the fact that it has the Set-Up ability.

While other types of enemy units were spotted, they are being held in reserve until such time as they're needed. Thus it is highly unlikely that the 25^th will encounter them while on patrol.
