Hahaha

I have to say, after returning to DF from a long break, this release is the smoothest I remember it. The new job priorities rock!

Since 0.40.23 everything in DF works fine. Now if any thing is wrong the problem rests with the human player.
Not sure I would go quite that far, there are still plenty of buggy aspects of the game, and some more that might be working as intended but don't make any goddamn sense, but you're right that this is one of the most playable releases so far.  So many long running and irritating bugs have been fized.

You didn't have the relevant foods enabled on any stockpile. The two large food stockpiles accept seeds and seeds only, one stockpile by the butchers accepts fish and meat (no raw fish, though).

Of course plants weren't getting hauled, there was no place for them to get hauled to.

Artefacts are a different matter. One of the common dfhack utilities prevents moving artefact crafts to bin-less stockpiles.

Umm..those large stockpiles you are referring to are seed only stockpiles. The food stocks were built and deleted, built and delete trying to get things moved to them. The main stockpile outside the entrance was set to food at the start and turned off when nothing was getting moved there. As I said I wish I had an older save. There should be a food stockpile at the butcher and a fish one near the fishing workshop. The lack of a food stockpile wouldnt explain the other things like gypsum and crafted things in the workshops not being hauled.

Why even post the save when it doesn't show the issue? Why not upload, say, a nice picture of a kitten instead?

Anyway, you were crippling hauling by having everyone do something else (including assigning a bunch of dwarfs with the mining labour active to military squads, meaning they'll waste several days equipping/unequipping their military uniform everytime they start/stop training) and limiting the bulk-business stockpile just outside the doors by binding jobs to wheelbarrows. So it's hard to say what was failure to move items and what just hauling overload. I couldn't find any withered plants, only rotten raw mussels, which were extremely unsurprising since the only stockpile still in existence that allows anything but seeds only allows prepared, _not_ raw fish. If strawberries withered "in spite of" stockpiles with plants allowed, that could be because strawberries are not "plant" but "fruit/leaf" (but strawberry plants are plants).

Gypsum plaster is a genuine bug; as far as i can tell, gypsum plaster bags are treated as empty bags in hauling, so you need to allow "furniture - boxes and bags - cloth/yarn/silk/leather" on your stockpiles. Nothing that warrants double exclamation marks, though.

And the artefact is currently inside a bin, on a stockpile that allows artefacts. So if there's an issue with that, you're definitely not presenting it.

Try posting the save again with a proper stockpile set up, then?

I posted the save because someone asked for it. I wish I had the start save so you could see that even at the very beginning the dwarves weren't hauling things off the wagon to the everything stockpile. I'm guessing that bugs like this dont get addressed because of the hostile "there cant be anything wrong with the game so you must be an idiot" way people react to posts here.

You could just have said "i don't have a save that demonstrates the issue" instead of posting one that doesn't _without clearly mentioning that fact_.

And i've actually looked at your file and got everything hauled without trouble just by editing some stockpile settings. So it looks suspciously like bad stockpile settings or some third-party utility acting up.

Edit: A whole website dedicated to "There can't be anything wrong with the game so you must be an idiot". You know, people have actually played the game, and they've used hauling, and they've simply not seen any of the issues you're reporting, in spite of being in the exact same situation. If you're getting different results, chances are pretty good that you've done something differently.

We deal with bugs by getting saves. That's how we've always operated here.

We're only hostile because you're being hostile. Incredibly hostile, especially since you clearly have no idea how to actually properly report a bug (hint: it's the bug tracker button on the main page), not to mention the fact that if you're the only person experiencing this, then the only possible explanation is that it's on your side.

You may notice that the Toad himself asks you to provide a save for bugs. Just describing your bug is completely and utterly worthless.

I already explained why that was happening. You had wheelbarrows being used for stockpile hauling, so items were not being hauled straight away from workshops because they had to wait for the wheelbarrows to become available. Only 3 items could be hauled to the stockpile at a time.

I made the wheelbarrows for the stockpile 0 and all those crafted items were hauled almost straight away. I found the problems you were having and quickly remedied all of them by using appropriate stockpile settings.

You keep saying something is wrong with the game but you have proven yourself to make very obvious mistakes, when in my experience I have had no issues whatsoever with hauling. The only issue i can see is gypsum being treated as Furniture - boxes and bags.

Just admit you screwed up and end this discussion.

Is the wheelbarrow thing a new change then ? I've been setting up stockpile with 2 wheelbarrow since before .34 and never had any hauling issues or lockouts due to wheelbarrow use. That is prob it then but I've never had hauling problems beforew ith these settings prior to the priority changes.

Wheelbarrows were introduced in 0.34.08...

And yeah, it's probably a new thing with the priority changes, due to the fact that dwarves can now carry multiple things in their hands at one time.

Stockpiles work like that when wheelbarrows are assigned to it so that ONLY wheelbarrows are used to haul items to that stockpile. You can assign many wheelbarrows now. This is so if the stockpile accepts very heavy items that would take an eternity to drag, are instead quickly moved with a wheelbarrow so huge amounts of time aren't wasted slowly dragging platinum nuggets up from the caverns.

Thanks for catching that Borge. Guess I wont use wheel barrels anymore except for rock piles.

I'm figuring the game is just being more religious about it now since as I said I've been using this 2 wheelbarrows per stockpile for my main stocks for a while now and didnt have a backlog before. So not a bug but not a simple mistake either. All the embark barrels with gypsum not being hauled was a bug though. Anyone know how to change the number of dwarves training at one time in the military orders ? It used to be you could plus/minus the number up in a setting but that doesnt seem to be there anymore.

You just assign them to an active squad, and assign that squad to a barracks, they will train all the time until they are ordered to move out or their squad is deactivated... No plus or minus, but still pretty simple to change...

I think you should be able to move the gypsum by increasing the amount accepted by the hospital, assuming it is in bags that can be hauled and isn't just sitting in a barrel where it isn't counted as existing...
