Sitting against the pillar, Arwen has a quiet meal of bread. It's the first of the seven pieces of hardtack his father gave him when he left for his adventuring career. He wasn't happy about his son leaving to go roll the dice of fortune with his life, but he supported him all the same.
Johanna:Ah, the Elminster series. The original copper dreadful. It's actually remarkably wonderful for clearing the mind, since most of the stories are so brainless. They're full of action, flirtation, adventure, deus ex machina, divine sex (something considered heretical by the Church of Mystra, leading to the attempted destruction of those books, and the subsequent rise in demand for 'the book Mystra doesn't want you to read!'), and that one gender-bending time.
That was... wierd.
Either way, it helps to free her subconscious to wander, working on the magical formulas in the background.
Adrik:Adrik kept watch, scanning the edge of his vision vigilantly, but nothing passed over it. Scales and shadows flashed at the edge, but warning shots of ice send the shadows scurrying.

Mirella sits off on the side, and burns some incense in meditation. Selune doesn't ask for jubilant celebration in her name; all she needs is the quiet faith of her followers.

In addition, Mirella is able to safely remove the cap of a violet fungus, wrapping it in fabric, and stowing it for later in her bag. In the trash pit, she finds an abundance of pests scavenging the refuse, including cave crickets, large, pale, almost translucent insects, and horned slugs, equally large, but grotesque affairs. Both are simple to collect and preserve for later use.
