"Ach, scaly guard lizards...heh heh..." Johanna chuckled. "Hey look, they're all bunched up, heh heh..."

Johanna begin forming a javelin of brittle ice in the thin air over her head, aiming it toward the grouped up enemies...

She instructed her allies to pause their reckless charge into danger.

"You lot with the clubs and swords hold a moment and let this spell o' mine go off-it'll do some damage over a wide area, friend or foe."

Action: Ice knife on Drake D2! Oh yeah, can we say my melee allies pause their attacks till I do this? So no friendly fire. Assuming our boy doesn't tame them all anyway.

Arwen pauses a moment, curious. That smell again... Maybe he'd be able to place it this time. For now, more of Rex's Kin were approaching them. Let's see if that trick still works.

"STHARL!"

Arwen attempts to tame these drakes as well!

The hind quarters of the animals slam to the ground at the command, and they seem cowed. They should be relatively easy to keep calm, as long as their original masters don't show up, and if Arwen devotes his full attention to controlling them. ((A la Jurrasic World.))
Which is, of course, when five kobolds peer in from the darkness to investigate the ruckus.

Arwen gives himself a moment to feel proud, then frowns as the Kobolds show up. He looks to his allies quickly, then back to the Drakes. This would be tricky if he diverted his attention... He keeps his fist up, motioning for them not to move.

"I'll focus on keeping the Drakes off of us... You guys take out the Kobolds. If you need me to assist, just holler, I'll start throwing fire."

Mirella shifts forward, feet slipping and sliding on the smooth, wet floor.

(Adrik's Spell Attacks: 18+7, 9+7, Two Successes! 2 and 8 damage!)
Aiming two extended index fingers at the kobolds, Adrik unleashes two blasts of ice. One knocks a kobold head over heels, out of sight, while the other simply grazes Kobold 4.

(Johanna's Spell Attack: 19+6, Success! 2 damage!)
(Kobolds' Dexterity Saves: 11, 9, 19! One Success (K3)! 1+1 damage (K3 takes half)!)
Wizards mantra is 'Practice, Practice, Practice!' No truism is more accurate, and when a wizard ignores this, and casts a spell for the first time, they often don't get the results they imagined. This is very accurate in this case, where Johanna's bolt of ice hits dead on, but it doesn't have any UMPH behind it.

The drakes hold their position... for now.

Two kobolds slid down the ledge, one tumbling into Mirella's prepared swing.
(Mirella's Melee Attack: 18+5, Success! 8 damage!)
Kobold 3, meet Mirella's staff. Mirella's staff, meet Kobold 3. Well, it looks like you've really hit it off!

(Kobold 4's Melee Attack vs. Adrik: 11, Failure!)
The remaining kobold swings at Adrik with its crummy knife, but it bounces off the sorcerer's scaly flesh.

(Kobold 2's Ranged Attack vs. Mirella: 21, Success! 3+2 damage!)
In vengeance for their downed comrade, a kobold brains Mirella in the head with a pebble.

(Kobold 1's Handle Animal vs. Arwen's: 10 vs 4+0, Kobold success!)
A kobold shouts down from the ledge, "Lowd! Jaka!"

Well, Magic Missile all of the kobolds.  Unless Arwen doesn't regain control, in which case, shout at the drakes.

Bellowing over the orders of the kobold, Arwen brings the drakes back to their seated position. They look rather grumpy about the conflicting orders.
