((Mirella autoed to attack the adjacent kobold.))
(Mirella's Melee Attack: 16+5, Success! 5+3 damage!)
Mirella crushes the fragile reptilian under the weight of her staff!

(Arwen's Magic Missile damage: 2+1, 4+1, 2+1, 11 damage!)
Arwen launches off three bolts, each finding purchase, sending the kobolds flying.
When no further sound come from above, the party figures that the enemy has been defeated. Without any anyone to try and wrest control of the drakes from Arwen, they should be relatively tame.

+1500 XP gained!
+150 for the kobolds, +1350 for pacifying the drakes! +375 each!

The locked cage still remains an obstacle, but an ineffective one; it can easily be avoided by going back through the crevice, climbing up the rope, and entering the room as one might do normally.

Do I happen to have anything I could use to feed the drakes?

Adrik, as a sorcerer, starts with either a dungeoneer's pack or an explorer's pack. Despite not being listed on his sheet, both of which contain 10 days of rations. Rations, for the most part, consist of jerky, dried fruit, hardtack, and nuts, food that doesn't go bad. The drakes might enjoy some jerky.

((I thought I had ticked that box.  Huh
E:I did, in fact, tick that box.))
Toss each of the drakes some jerky.

((So you did. Oops.))
The drakes eagerly gulp down the jerky, and look at Adrik expectantly.

...hm.  That can't have worked...  Or can it have?
Oh dear.  I wasn't expecting nearly no input.

What kind of expectantly are they looking?

The drakes look as if they are expecting more food, or, Adrik figures, orders, so they can earn more food.

<Sit.>
Assuming the drakes comply, each gets a strip of jerky.
<Good.>

The drakes quickly comply, and, as eagerly as before, eat their treats. They are definitely trained, but how well is indeterminate. Perhaps this is their pen, or their training area. As demonstrated, they have no particular loyalty or dislike towards you or the cultists. If they are kept fed and happy, they should follow you loyally.

Yes we do.

Oh, this will be fun."

"We kept Rex and the newbie, we're keeping these guys. They're too cute to leave here!" Arwen approaches one of the Drakes and gives it an affectionate rub on the head.

"svaust ui vi bensvelk belikr? coi ui wux!"

"Hey, don't spoil them for the rest of us...
Adrik carefully moves to one and does the same.

Initially, the drakes seem a bit anxious when the two approach, but they quickly cheer up when they see that they're getting pet. The drakes that get petted make a 'ki-ki-ki-ki' sound, which translates into Draconic as 'purr', and rub their heads into your legs, like big dogs. Of course, their heads are bony and scaly, so they dig, painfully, into Adrik's leg. Still, it's kinda cute... in a cold, reptilian killing machine sorta way...

"See, look how sweet they are! And that wouldn't happen if you wore good armor." Arwen chuckled, looking to Adrik's leg. Not bleeding, but probably hurting... He'd be alright. Probably. "Let's keep going. I'd like to get this done with and head out before night falls. I feel it'd be best if we didn't spend the night in this cave." Just a hunch, but hunches always had some form of wisdom. His coworker's words rang in his head. Maybe he was developing an Adventurer's Instincts... Or maybe that was just code for luck. Who knew? For now, Arwen pressed deeper into the cave, his sword in hand and a new Drake at his side.

"Dout z'ar ominak ui Alice."
