I had some issues with the auto-downloader as well.  It's auto-extracted past 95% on me a time or two before getting stuck as well.  A few tries and it sorts itself out, but it seems a bit random.  I'd prefer if the files were encrypted using another system instead, since now I know it's not just my laptop.  I just checked the files and we should be good now.  I've translated the download to a .zip file instead, so it should unzip easily enough now.

Embarking from Hammercrown crashes the game.  Xominac:  Do you still have a copy of the save from before you placed it in the self-extracting file compressor?  If not, I'll have to roll the game history back to before that turn and have everyone play their turn before you get to play your two year set-up anew.

Yeah I do. Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a few days. Stomach flu struck my house out of the blue, I'm uploading a different version of the save now. How is this one working out for you? If that doesn't work then I'll try again. I have multiple saves (one for legends).

It won't extract using 7-zip, which usually has no trouble with .rar files.  I get an error: "archive unable to be extracted"  Are you able to extract it on your system after re-downloading a copy?

This time it will work.  >:( I used a different type of compression software even though the ending is still rar. Link

Well, the file extracted just fine this time. However, in three out of three trials (peasant, Hero and Demigod), An adventurer embarking from Hammercrown crashes the game.  I'm going to see if this corruption goes back farther in the turn list, so we can see if it's your save or another's that has created the problem.

You had to go back two turns to fix it? This is becoming rather bothersome... Shall I try once more?

I think we have a winner!  Adventurer starts in Hammercrowns with no problem!  No to see if it will also unretire without trouble...  Yes!  Hammercrowns unretires without a hitch!  We're back in business, with no history rollbacks!

Great!  That's a huge relief.

Should I give it a second go?

Yes, please do.  The "Latest save" has been updated to the non-buggy one (Thank you so much for your perseverance, xominxac!).  I shall update the front page with the 7 day countdown for your turn now.

In other news, I just took an adventurer from one side of the map to the other in under five in-game days, so fifteen days may be too long.  I intend to suggest at the Council of Doom (held after turn 10) that the time for adventurers be nerfed down to just three days (two nights) per turn.

Please find an avatar picture for your Forii personna: I will use that picture in one of the five slots of "The Council of Doom" (when it happens after Turn 10.)

First page updated.

Whew, dodged a bullet there. Thank goodness I kept multiple versions of the save. This is the first time I've had any issues with the auto extractor so I really don't know what caused it to stop from being extracted like that. Sorry so much time was wasted on trying to get a working save up, I'll try and make up for it with an elaborate story.

You can use a place holder for my avatar atm.  I plan to draw mine later.

I would be surprised if I don't have my turn finished by tonight.

Awesome.  I'll update stuff tonight or Monday then - My Sunday's pretty much booked out with clients.

All the avatars I have up at the moment are place-holders from a "Magic: The Gathering" promotion.

I'm sorely tempted to use something like this as the avatar picture for my Forii personna.

In all reality, it might be a tad silly though. I'm still deciding on mine so don't use that.

Okay, here we go. I shall use this for my current picture.

Note, none of those pictures belong to me.

No problem.  I'll be using this one which is an internet find too:

Interesting note:  Each post is limited to 40,000 characters.  In attempting to put the forii pics in the first post, I just popped that limit.

...Dwarf Fortress, exceeding the limits of computers everywhere...

How's your turn coming along, evictedsaint?  Any more troubles with the save?
