Charles turned to the other man.

"You'd like to think that, wouldn't you? That everyone follows the rules. Do you what actually happens? I've spoken with many soldiers from the previous wars and they've seen slaughter, rape and pillaging from the opposing army. Sound familiar? There have also been cases that I've sat in on where our own soldiers are charged for such war crimes."

The lancer herself seems to be struggling just to stay conscious. The odd young woman riding the donkey who joined the battle makes a quick interjection, seeing the lancer begin to succumb to her wounds.

He turned to Caroline.

"And yes, please do. Make sure her weapon is out of reach first and if one of you two," he addressed the hunters, "could bind her arms I would be most appreciative."
